Joseph “Joe” J. Motycka Jr.

Joseph “Joe” J. Motycka Jr., 84, Town of Arthur, Chippewa County, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, at Our House Memory Care, under the care of Heartland Hospice.

Joe was born Sept. 13, 1937, to Joseph “Joe” and Borghild “Bucka” (Weeks) Motycka, in Chippewa County.

He grew up in the Town of Arthur, and following serving in the United States Air Force from 1960-64, he remained active in planning and attending his Air Force unit reunions.

Joe was employed at Western Electric, AT& T and Lucient, while living in Columbus, Ohio, before retiring in 2000, and moving on the family farm in the Town of Arthur, Cadott. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, shopping and listening to music.

He is survived by his brother-in-law – Charlie Polhamus; nieces – Patrina (Mike) Gunderson and Penny (Tom) Nemitz; nephew – Chuck (Lisa) Polhamus; and several great-nieces; great- nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Joe and Bucka Motycka; and a sister – Mariana Polhamus.

Graveside services with military honors by the Cadott American Legion and VFW, will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2, at the Bohemian National Cemetery, Town of Arthur, Cadott.

Leiser Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cadott, is assisting the family.
