Rebels make good showing with the annual fair projects
The Northern Wisconsin State Fair (NWSF) was back in 2021, after a year’s hiatis, because of COVID-19, and so was the Borderline Rebels 4-H Club. Members were again able to enter projects at the fair.
Inluded in the entires, were Claire Wright, who got a red ribbon on landscape/seascape photography, a red on people/person photography and a red on an artwork project, while Colin Wright received Cloverbud participation ribbons on his Lego build, rock creature and leaf identification book.
Maggie Wright also received Cloverbud participation ribbons on her brownies, rock creature and painting. Meanwhile, Katherine Zimmerman received a red ribbon for her self-determined poster about her Zero Waste Graduation party and another red for her Natural Resources poster about how CAFOs contaminate drinking water with nitrates.
Alex Pruss received a blue ribbon for his green tomatoes, a blue for his red tomatoes and a blue for his wildflower photography. Matthew Pruss earned a blue ribbon for his houseplant and a blue for his Lego exhibit.
Anna Pruss received blue ribbons for brownies, fudge, peanut butter cookies, a drawing and dot art. She also got a red ribbon for a bracelet. Emily Pruss earned blue ribbons for her decorated cookies, cake, Lego project and oil pastels, as well as a red ribbon for chalk drawing.
In agriculture, Samantha Gully showed rabbits, with a third in her class and fifth in showmanship. Nathan Gully got third and fourth for his pig classes. He also placed fourth in showmanship and fourth in carcass.
