Eli S. Mast

1930-2021

Eli S. Mast, age 90 years, three months and 19 days, of the Town of Little Black, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at the Colonial Center in Colby under the tender care of hospice.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 4 at the residence of Marvin Miller (W8332 Pine Ave, Medford, WI). His final resting place will be at the Amish church cemetery in the Town of Holway. Menno Borntrager will officiate. The honor of pallbearers belongs to Joe Schrock, Harley Miller, Jake D. Borntrager and Eli Mullet. Friends and family welcome to the visitation on Thursday, June 3, at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Eli was born on Sept. 19, 1930 in Medford, the son of Sam and Barbara (Miller) Mast. He was united in marriage to Lovina Hochstetler on Mar. 8, 1951 in the Town of Holway. Eli farmed and worked at the post company in Owen. He also worked on small engines and repaired machinery.

Eli is survived by nine children, Fannie (Clarence Borntrager) of Lavalle, Lizzie (Felty Borntrager) of Pierz, Minn., Mattie Beechy of Bertha, Minn., Barbara (Jeff Kaatz) of Fremont, Susie (Daniel Shrock)of Laplata, Mo., Yost Mast (special friend, Linda Moran) of Keavy, Ky., Samuel Mast of Orange, Calif., William Mast of Owen and Dannie (Susan Sayles) Cadott; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lovina; his son, John; a son-in-law, John Beechy; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Krueger; four brothers and one sister, Joseph (Anna Borntrager) Mast, John (Fannie Hochstetler) Mast, Fannie (Joseph) Miller, William (Barbara Miller) Mast and Samuel (Carol Jenson) Mast.
