Heinzen honored with the DAR Good Citizen Award

She graduated as salutatorian of her Lake Holcombe class this spring, but senior Kaitlyn Heinzen took something else with her, as well. Heinzen was named this year, as a recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Award for her school district.

To qualify for the recognition, Heinzen was chosen, after the teachers of Lake Holcombe selected five girls who had the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. Once these five were selected, her class voted for a girl on that list.

Heinzen was later notified she had joined the ranks of those who embody DAR qualities.

“I was very honored that my teachers and classmates felt that I was qualified for the DAR Award,” said Heinzen.
