Fireworks on the Range kicks-off summer season
An evening of music, prizes and fireworks is slated for Friday, May 28, at 6 p.m., as a kick-off to the summer, and Memorial Day weekend. Crestwood Corners Fireworks and Whispering Pines Golf Course are teaming up to offer Fireworks on the Range, a family-friendly event.
Crestwood Corners usually does a kick-off to the season and Todd Rykal, Whispering Pines, says he has wanted to work together on an opening celebration for the golf course.
“We thought it would be a great way to cross market and do a cool event for the community, together, with both of our companies,” said Rykal.
The golf course will serve as the host for the event. Prize drawing registration will begin at 6 p.m., and there will be LED light sticks for the kids, as well as bouncy houses. DJ music begins at 7:30 p.m. The prize winner drawings will follow at 9 p.m.
There will be food and drinks available for purchase throughout the event, including a food stand run by Cadott Youth Baseball.
Crestwood Corners will set off fireworks, beginning at 9:30 p.m.
“Hopefully, the weather is nice, and everyone can just chill and relax,” said Rykal, adding there is plenty of space for the youngsters to run around.
Rykal says they are also offering discounts for veterans and those currently in the military over the weekend. Veterans and military members golf for free on Memorial Day, and half-price Saturday, May 29, and Sunday, May 30. People must call ahead for tee times.
“It’s kind of a kick-off for Memorial Day and appreciation for our armed services and the folks that put their lives on the line for us,” said Rykal. “And allow us to do something cool, like golf whenever we want to.”
