Suspect in custody for son’s shooting death

An altercation left one person dead, April 9, in the Township of Marshall.

Acording to the Rusk County Sheriff’s office, they received a 911 call at about 6:30 p.m., reporting an altercation at N799 County Hwy. G. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Jesse O’brien, 36, Sheldon, deceased from a single gunshot wound.

Scott O’brien, 59, Sheldon, the father of Jesse, was taken into custody for Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Firearm.

The incident is still under investigation by the Rusk County Sheriff’s office, Wisconsin State Crime Lab, Wisconsin State Patrol and the Rusk County Medical Examiners office.
