1930-2022 Helen F. Bahr, 91, of Colby, formerly of Medford, died peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at The Waterford Assisted Living in Colby. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 9 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford with the Rev. Daniel Iwinski officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen I Cemetery, Medford. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Helen was born June 18, 1930 in Medford to Helen (Simek) and Frank Bucki. On Oct. 9, 1948, she married Emil Bahr. Once married, Helen and Emil took over her parent’s farm in the town of Browning and farmed there for many years. Helen then worked at Eddie’s Bake Shop from 1978-1993, and then at the Sandbox Daycare until she retired at the age of 79. Helen enjoyed polka music, playing poker and having Tuesday night card parties, going to the casino, and taking trips with family. Survivors include five children, Lorna (Wallace) Walters of Athens, Duane “Duce” (Lynette) Bahr of Goodrich, Sandra “Sandy” (Duane) Zugier of Abbotsford, Myron Bahr of Medford, Rhonda Bahr of Medford; a sister, Stella Bucki of Downers Grove, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, Scott (Michelle) Walters, Tim Walters, Kristi (Joe Westfall) Walters, Randy (Suzanne) Walters, Dave (Tracy) Hraby, Jason (Trisha) Hraby, Ryan (Jackie) Bahr, Julie (Bob) Rollins, April (Darrell) Weiler, Jerry (Amy) Zugier, Lisa (Jason) Kunze, Seth Bahr, and special granddaughter and caregiver, Courtney (Dave Tischendorf) Bahr; 26 great grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren and two on the way! She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emil; siblings, Walter, John, Theodore, Emil, Edward, Frances and a brother in infancy. 1930-2022 Rudy Charles Jaeger, 92, of Gilman, passed away June 3, 2022 at the Chippewa Falls Veteran’s Home in Chippewa Falls, Wis. A graveside service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 17 with Military Honors at the Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman. Rudy was born Feb. 18, 1930 in the Town of Ford to the late Carl and Mary (Sedivy) and Carl Jaeger. Rudy grew up on the family farm near Gilman, and graduated from Gilman high school. Rudy joined the Army in 1948 and served in Korea with the Army 10th Core Engineer (Combat) Battalion. After the Army, Rudy joined the Wisconsin National Guard full time and worked at the armories in Stanley, Eau Claire, and Chippewa Falls until his retirement. In total, Rudy served 33.5 years. He was proud to be retired Army. After retirement, Rudy spent most of his time working with his brother Ray. Whether in the woods, sawing lumber, making maple syrup, or in the repair shop, one could usually find him at Ray’s. At the end of the day, he loved to stop at a local tavern and talk with friends over a few beers. A virtual encyclopedia, he would know something about most any subject. Quick with a joke or remark, Rudy was known and endeared by many. Rudy is survived his siblings, Wilma Mravik of Gilman, Ray Jaeger of Gilman, and many nieces and nephews. 1934-2022 James B. Goshaw, age 88, of Kenosha, entered into eternal life on June 3, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 10, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 12 p.m. A visitation will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Friday, June 10, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. concluding with Full Military Honors. Burial at Union Cemetery in Boyd, will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hospice Alliance would be appreciated by the family. He was born Jan. 25, 1934, in St. Paul, Minn. He was the son of the late Frank A. and the late Ona A. (Andrus) Goshaw. James was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Ellen K. (Joerndt) Goshaw; daughter, Theresa M. Goshaw; sons, Steven F., Thomas P., Gregory J., and Daniel W. Goshaw; granddaughters, Michelle A. (David) DeLeon, JoAnna C. (Joseph DeLeon) Dodge, Danielle J. (Michael) Krtek; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Jordynn, Joseph, Alexander, Sophie, and Ryan; and sister, Janet Kron Maitz. He was a Devout Catholic, having served as an Usher and Treasurer at St. Pius V Shrine in Lake Zurich, Ill. He graduated from Gilman High School in 1951 and studied at Wisconsin State College-Eau Claire. James served with honor in the U.S. Navy from Jan. 1952 - Dec. 1954, attending Aviation and Electronics Schools and performing the duties of Radio Repairman. James was a member and Past Commander of the American Legion David Leet Post #552 of Somers, Wis., and Trustee/Shipmate with the Navy Club Ship #40 of Kenosha, Wis. He worked at General Electric, American Motors, then later Chrysler from where he retired in 2003 after 45 years. He received many perfect attendance awards which instilled a strong work-ethic in his children. James was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years and beloved mother of his five children, Angeline D. (Wargin) Goshaw; and his brother, Loren J. Goshaw. He volunteered, driving people to medical appointments, and delivering food to the needy through the Meals-on-Wheels Program with Ellen, who will continue the Service to the Community. James also enjoyed attending family gatherings, camping, fishing, riding his Harley, church activities, physical fitness, and traveling. He will forever be known for his kindness and gentlemanly treatment of everyone he met. Facing generational challenges presented by his rambunctious children, James’ unconditional love made him a rock of inspiration. He will be missed and remembered with love. Kathleen Sue Andreae-Riley (nee Waszkiewicz), age 75, passed away peacefully, on June 2, 2022 in Ringle, Wisconsin. Kathleen was born September 11, 1946 to Frank and Dolly Waszkiewicz in Garden City, Michigan. On January 4, 1964 she was united in marriage to Ervin Andreae. Kathleen loved cooking for her family, with Memorial Day gatherings being one of her favorites. When she wasn’t making quilts for babies, she could be found reading about spirituality, faith and relationships. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Also drove semi truck with both spouses, and was also awarded with One Million Miles Driven. Kathleen was a fiercely independent and proud woman that could, at times, be described as stubborn. After the passing of Ervin, Kathleen married Marty Riley. Kathleen will be missed dearly by her three children Susan (Gary) Hollar, Lisa Jaecks and Robert (George) Andreae; 4 grandchildren, Amanda, Stephine, Josh and Fawna; one great grandchild, Jace; siblings, Delores Mary Ricinski, Frank (Janice) Waszkiewicz, Michael (Theresa) Waszkiewicz; Lynnea (Debbie) Waszkiewicz, Teresa Hancock along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Ervin and Marty; and a great granddaughter, Ryver. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Spirit Baptist Church, W1461 WI-86, Spirit, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. 1938-2 022 Joyce A. Lukes, 83, of Ogema, passed away on May 31, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, W9485 Highway 8, Catawba, Wis., 54515, with Father Lourdu Madanu Raju officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery, Catawba. Joyce was born on Nov. 4, 1938, in Catawba, to Frank and Martha (Weyers) Kurth. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Catawba before graduating from Phillips High School. Joyce married Dennis Lukes and they took over the Lukes’ family farm and they would go on to farm and log until retirement. Joyce and Dennis enjoyed retirement by gambling, spending time with their children and grandchildren, and making Sunday supper. She is survived by her children, Rick (Anna) Lukes, Nancy (Ken) Wanish, and Jani (Nick) Lallemont; grandchildren, Lane, Brook (Owen), Brandi (Lisa), Beth (Casey) Moore, Kylie (Jarrett) Knutson, Kurt (Stephanie), Danielle (Bill) Bogdan, Brent (Rachel) Nikkila; 9 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jerome Kurth. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; daughter, Katina; parents; infant granddaughter, Cassandra; and siblings, Kathryn, Rheta, Mary Ann, Patsy, Vince, and Marvin. Joyce would like to thank Rick, Anna, Jani, and Nick for providing care so she may stay in her home until the end.
