1951-2 022 Buddy David Wayne Krueger, “Wayne” age 71, of Prentice, died Monday, May 30, 2022 at his home while under the care of his caregivers, Rose and Greg Hartman and Hope Hospice. Wayne was born Apr. 27, 1951 in Medford to Martha (Sachse) and William Krueger. He worked at Black River Industries. Wayne enjoyed his calm, peaceful surroundings at his home in Prentice. He is survived by a sister, Lillian; nieces and nephews; friend and guardian, Julie McGuire of Rhinelander; and his caregivers. 1938-2022 Phyllis M. Premeau, 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Three Oaks Health Services, Marshfield. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where a gathering for family and friends was from 10 a.m. until service time. Deacon Ray Draeger officiated. Burial was in Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Marshfield. Phyllis was born on Sept. 7, 1938 in Belvedere, Ill., to Glen and Bernita (Boettcher) Rucker. She was united in marriage to Arnold J. Premeau on Dec. 8, 1956 in Appleton. He died on Apr. 26, 2018. Before her marriage, Phyllis was employed at Roddis Plywood. After her marriage, she raised her family and later she was seasonally employed at Figi’s in Marshfield. Phyllis enjoyed working in her flower beds, lawn work and watching and feeding the birds. She also enjoyed crocheting, camping, campfires, traveling and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Lori (Norm) Babcock, Deb (Al) Deiler, and Nona (Ron) Zepplin, all of Marshfield. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Fairbert, Stephanie Fairbert, Troy Deiler (Nicky), Jaime (Anthony) Reigel, Abby (Nate) Thurber, Amber Schultz and Jesse (Megan) Zepplin; and great grandchildren, Ryker, Emersyn, Alice, Dereck, Haily, Karisa, Jordyn, Coldyn, Lily, Allie, Jaxon and Margaux. She is further survived by siblings, Dennis Rucker, Ross (Gail) Rucker, all of Pittsville, Linda (Norm) Snortheim of Marshfield, and Glenda (Bob) Fellenz of Loyal. 1929-2022 Violet M. Melaski, age 92, of Rib Lake, passed away quietly with loving family at her side on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Rib Lake Health Services. A funeral and celebration of a life well lived will be held on Friday, June 3, at 11 a.m., at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake. The family will receive friends for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at the Lakeside Cemetery. A meal will be served at the church hall following the service. Vi was born on June 5, 1929, in Pembine, to the late Henry and Isabel (Doctor) Schlais. She attended Stetsonville grade school and graduated from the Medford High School in 1946. From 1947 to 1950, she went to nurses training at Milwaukee County General Hospital and received her RN degree. Serving in the Army during the Korean War as a second lieutenant, she served in Kyoto Japan Army Hospital from 1951 until 1953. She later attended anesthesia school in Cincinnati, Ohio, and worked as a nurse anesthetist at the St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee. Vi married Robert Melaski in 1958 and they were married 63 years and experienced a wide variety of jobs and travel, meeting family and friends all over the country. After her marriage in 1958, she worked at the Rib Lake Clinic for a short time. Vi and her husband, Bob, owned and operated the Schlais Clothing Store for 15 years. She was very involved in her community. Some of her activities include first responder/ EMT, school board member, an active 4-H leader, and a member of the Christian Mothers. Vi was always available to help anyone in need. Her “happy place” was in her vegetable garden and anyone who stopped in to visit enjoyed the benefits of her green thumb. Vi has definitely left a special imprint on the little town of Rib Lake and has made the world a better place in so many ways. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Melaski; her daughters, Mary (Bill) Niggemann, and Nancy (Wayne) Mann; her brother, Dennis (Cathy) Schlais; her grandchildren, Josh (Becky) Mann, Paula (Darin) Durst, Steve Mann, Jenna (Steve) Zenner, Michael (fiancé Leah) Mann, Nicole (Issac) Olson, Lisa Niggemann, and William (Lindsay) Niggemann; and her great-grandchildren, Shawna, Bryant, Danielle, Aubrey, Ezra, Andi, Zep, Korbi, Amelia, Ingrid, Liam, and Livia. 1946-2 022 Diane Lee Thielke, 75, passed away at home in Medford with the care of Hope Hospice and her loving family by her side on May 12, 2022. A private memorial service will be held at a later date by family and close friends. Diane was born July 12, 1946 in Chicago, Ill., and moved to Medford in 1974. She owned and operated a dairy farm for approximately 20 years, and owned and operated “Diane’s Groom Room” in Medford. Diane started one of the first animal shelters/dog catcher in Taylor County. She was a co-partner of a Boarding Kennel/Animal Shelter in Taylor County. She was also an active member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary, the Frances L. Simek Memorial Library, and the Taylor County Historical Society and Taylor County Humane Society in Medford. Diane is survived by her husband, Gordon W. 1944-2022 Frank L. “Jr.” Siudak, age 77, of Lublin, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at his home, with his wife at his side, under the care of Hope Hospice & Palliative Care. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 28 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 28 at the church, from 9 a.m. until time of service. Frank Larry Siudak was born on Dec. 29, 1944 in Lublin, the son of Frank A. and Celia C. (Kusek) Siudak. He was raised and educated in Lublin. After completing his education, Frank served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard from 1964 to 1970. He was united in marriage to Patricia A. Zawacki on July 3, 1965 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. Over the years, Frank worked with his father in the family logging business. He later hauled can milk and cheese to Green Bay for Bellinger Dairy. He then drove the grader for the Town of Roosevelt for the next 20 years. Frank loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed being outdoors, especially watching birds, and enjoying the solar lights that lit his yard. He spent many years going to many car shows, showing off his convertible, and spending quality time with his son. Christmas was his favorite holiday, where he spent many hours decorating with hundreds of lights. He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Lublin; his son, Rick (Pam) Siudak of Green Bay; his daughters, Elaine Ward and Rita Siudak both of Greenfield; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Brunett and LuAnn (Donald) Peleschak, both of Thorp; two brothers, Chester (Marg) Siudak of Longwood, Fla. and Stanley Siudak of Augusta; his mother-in-law, Lorraine Zawacki of Thorp; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
