1979-2023 Kevin A. Keiser, 43, of Medford (previously of Rib Lake), passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023 at his home under the care of St. Croix Hospice surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 14, 2023 at Zondlo’s Bar and Ballroom in Rib Lake. Kevin was born on Jan. 8, 1979 in Racine, to Randy and Sandy (Matus) Keiser. He grew up in Salem, and graduated from Westosha Central High School, class of 1997. He currently worked at Multitek Inc. in Prentice, as a Business Operations Manager. On Nov. 5, 2022, he married Tanya Kauer (Fuchs) at their home. Kevin was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and spending time with his sons and family. Kevin is survived by his wife, Tanya Keiser; parents, Randy and Sandy (Matus) Keiser of Rib Lake; brother Jeff (Kasey Foster) Keiser of Ogema; sons, Trinity Keiser of Kenosha, Ashton Keiser of Eau Claire, Ethan Keiser of Medford; niece Layla Keiser and Kasey Foster’s daughter Noelle Foster; stepson Chandler (Taylor Popke) Kauer of Rib Lake and granddaughter Clementine Kauer. He is further survived by his in-laws; mother-in-law Peggy Close of Rib Lake; father-in-law Kevin (Jill Fuchs) Radtke of Rib Lake; brother and sister-in-law, Christopher “Critter’ (Ann) Radtke of Rib Lake and Savanna Radtke of Rib Lake; nephew and niece-in-law Cory Hansen and Presley Radtke. Andrew J. Brost


1931-2023 Andrew J. Brost, 91, of Medford, passed away on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 at Aspirus Medford Hospital. A Memorial service for Andrew will take place at Hemer-Pickerign Funeral Home, Medford, on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Father Patrick McConnell officiating. Military Honor will be performed by the Medford Military Honors Team. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. A celebration of life will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023 at the Medford VFW Post 5729, 240 S 8th St, Medford, WI 54451. Andy was born on July 19, 1931 to Anton S. and Emma C. Brost. He graduated from Medford High School in 1949. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, serving from 1949–1952 during the Korean Conflict. Andy participated in Wonsan-Hungnam-Chosin campaign; and participated in operations against enemy forces in south and central Korea. Following his proud service, he worked at Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee before returning to Medford to work as a custodian at Medford Senior High School until his retirement. He married his wife of 66 years, Lois, on May 5, 1956 in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. They had a family of eight children, three daughters and five sons. Andy was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren to which he loved dearly. This was something he held close to his heart. As he would often say, “I can’t wait to see my little people.” Andy is survived by his wife, Lois Brost; children, Virginia Brost of Medford, Joseph (Kristin) Brost of Rothschild, Lynn (James) Duesing of Medford, John (Crystal) Brost of Medford, Kristine (Calvin) Kalmon of Withee, James Brost of Ogema, Jerrold (Paula) Brost of Weston, and Mark (Tonya) Brost of Kronenwetter; grandchildren, Stefanie, Jordan, Janelle, Abby, Andrea, Ryan, Scott, Zane, Helaina, Alisha, Isaiah, Rainy, Keely, Kenya, Adam, Kallie, Jack, Chelsea, and Tyler; and 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Genevieve Schmidt of Kansas City, Mo. Andrew is further survived by other family and friends. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents; two infant daughters; brothers, Joseph, Albert, Richard, Lawrence, William, Robert and Raymond Brost; sisters, Emma Franke, Christina Haasch, Agnes Gorney, and Caroline LaTona. 1926-2023 Rose M. Burzynski, 96 of Gilman, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023 at her home with her family and Lucy by her side. A memorial mass will be held on May 13, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church-Gilman. Inurnment will follow in Meadowbrook Catholic Cemetery. Plombon Funeral Service is assisting the family. She was born on Oct. 22, 1926 in Polley, to the late Anna (Zwolenski) and John Brandt. Rose enjoyed growing up on the family farm and also helping her dad make cheese. Rose graduated from Gilman High in 1944. Rose and Florian were married on Aug. 19, 1944 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman. They enjoyed farming and also bought the Bellinger Tavern and in the 50’s the Polley Tavern until they bought the family farm in the town of Ford where they raised their five children. Florian began the Burzynski Insurance Agency and the Gilman Area Credit Union. Rose was an incredible housewife, gardner and mother who was married to Florian for 65 years. After Florian passed in 2009 Lucy became her partner. Rose loved the Red Hats organization and she was an active member of the Saints Peter & Paul Rosary society. She is survived by her children, Lawrence Burzynski of Escondedo, Calif., Elizabeth (Marshall) Harris of LaQuinta, Calif., Barbara (Randy) Ahlers of Eau Clarie, Mary Ann (Arthur) Krull of Utah and John (Jill) Burzynski of Gilman; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, John; and her sister, Alice. A special thank you to Hope Hospice for their outstanding love and service during Mom’s journey. 1967-2023 Sharon Bendy loved many things. She loved being an awesome grandma to her grandchildren. She loved sewing and selling her handmade dresses in Haddonfield. She loved scrapbooking and she loved life. She was a longtime Girl Scout troop leader for Atco Troop 613 and helped with Cub Scout Day Camp at Pine Tree for many years. Sharon Bendy, 55, died on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023 at her home in Atco, N.J. Sharon Bendy was born on June 20, 1967 to Thomas and Joyce Wilson of Atco. She graduated Edgewood Regional Senior High School in 1985. Sharon was united in marriage to Marvin Bendy of Berlin on Nov. 16, 1985 at Assumption Catholic Church in Atco. She worked in a variety of jobs in addition to pursing her passions of sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband Marvin, Sharon is survived by three children, Marvin Bendy of Chesilhurst, Joyce (Daniel) Richardson of Westmont and Elsie Bendy of Westmont; two grandchildren, Nora and Elliot; seven brothers and sisters, Janet (Daniel) Boris of Tabernacle, N.J., Thomas (Heather) Wilson Jr. of Austin, Texas, Michael (Nicole) Wilson of Sicklerville, N.J., Brian (Kim) Wilson of Medford, Nicole Wilson of Atco, N.J., Darci Fox of Berlin, N.J. and Rebecca (Anthony) Taylor of Kapolei, Hawaii; nieces and nephews, Jacob, Phoebe, Thomas, Liam, Molly, Ben, Katie, Elizabeth, Alex, Dylan and Lily, Jennifer and Chonah. Visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023 from 10-11 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Rd, Tabernacle, NJ 08088. A funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m. at the Church. Rita Theresa (Kress) Woelfel

Rita Theresa (Kress) Woelfel


1933-2022 Rita Theresa (Kress) Woelfel passed into eternal life on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022 at Care Partners Memory Care in Weston, Wisconsin at the age of 89. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Wausau, Wis. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023. Following Rita’s wishes to be cremated, visitation with family and sharing of memories will take place from 11-12 p.m., followed by a mass at noon. Peterson-Kramer Funeral Home & Crematory of Wausau assisted the family with arrangements. Born on Jan. 19, 1933 and raised in the Township of Little Black Wisconsin, Rita was one of four daughters to the late Minna (Metzung) and Ben Kress. After completing high school in Medford, Rita went on to attend Cosmetology School in Eau Claire, and returned to Medford to start her career as a beautician, eventually opening her own shop. Rita’s heart was eventually claimed by Robert “Lefty” Woelfel and they married in 1963. Over the next years, Rita, Lefty and their growing family relocated several times around northern Wisconsin and upper Michigan for Lefty’s forestry work, until they settled in Park Falls in 1969 where they built a wonderful circle of friends. During their time in Park Falls, Rita enjoyed many years of working at the two then-go-to beauty shops, The Pink Silhouette and Lorene’s Beauty Salon; in later years, she easily transitioned into the role of school cook at St. Anthony’s Catholic School, bringing her reputation as a great cook. Rita and Lefty remained in Park Falls until 2018, then moving to Wausau to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Rita resided over four years at Care Partners Memory Care, where she was fortunate to have an attentive and affectionate staff who took wonderful care of her and to whom she brought her sassy good humor. Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2012, Rita outlived expectations, sustained by fond childhood memories, enduring family connections and love for polka music. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Helen (Kress) Ziehlke and Ann Marie Kress, whom she now joins in heaven. She will be especially remembered by Robert ‘Lefty’ Woelfel, Wausau and Park Falls; and her four children with their families, Chuck, Lisa and Drew Woelfel, Wausau; Jeanne, Giovanni, Francesca and Robbie Angiulli, Wausau; Chris, Kelly, Alexia, Genevieve and Xavier Woelfel, Houston, Texas; Heidi, Neal, Jack, Kolby and Emily Sutrick Hubertus; sister, Leona (Kress) and Gene Gebert, Medford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
