Constance “Connie” R. Boeger


Constance “Connie” R. Boeger, 80, formerly of New Auburn, passed away peacefully, while under hospice care, at her home in Baraboo, Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019. Constance was born May 12, 1939, in Two Rivers, to Horace and Johana “Jenny” (Payette) Schaden. She married Donald “Don” Boeger June 25, 1960, in Two Rivers, and together, they raised three children. Along with taking care of her family, Connie worked as a group home caregiver for many years. She was a member of the St. Jude’s Alter Society in New Auburn, and in her free time, enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with her family, friends and dogs. She is survived by her husband – Don, Baraboo; sons – William (Sherry), Poynette, and Robert (Tammy), Stratford; daughter – Julie (Alan) Morris, Baraboo; brother – Nicholas Schaden (Jean), Whitelaw; sisters – JoAnn (Edward) Huberty, Sheboygan, and Cynthia (Jerome) Puta, Mishicot; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents – Horace and Jenny Schaden; in-laws – Arno and Helen Boeger; brother – Sheldon Schaden; and daughter in-law – Christine Boeger. A Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m., at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer, with a visitation one hour prior to the service, at the church. A lunch will follow the service. John Herbert Reeves


John Herbert Reeves John Herbert Reeves, 55, rural Augusta, passed away Monday evening, Dec. 2, 2019, at his home, in the loving care of his family and Mayo Home Hospice, after a 19-month battle with ALS, of which he endured with grace and dignity. John was Jan. 19, 1964, in Chicago, Ill. He lived in Elmhurst, Ill., until age 10, when his family moved to Holcombe. He graduated in 1982 from Holcombe High School, and was confirmed into the Lutheran faith as a member of St John’s Lutheran Church in Cornell. He went on to study diesel mechanics at CVTC and drove truck for his father’s company, Reeves Distribution, hauling milk for Kemps Dairy. John was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lynn Spindler, June 6, 1987. They began their life together in Eau Claire, before moving to Arcadia, then Strum, where they raised their son and daughter, while John took on a production/ inventory control management position with Ashley Furniture. They purchased their home in Bridge Creek Township, rural Augusta, and John took on another management position with Bush Bros. Canning Co. At an early age, John developed a love for automobiles, both restoring, then showing them in competitions. At age 15, he acquired a 1940 Chevy car he restored. His collection grew to include a 1939 Chevy truck, 1962 Oldsmobile, a 1980 Z28 Camaro and a 1977 Corvette. His motorized interests grew to include riding Harleys, a pastime that was dear to his heart and he enjoyed with his wife, son and many great friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with cherished family and friends. John was also an honorable firefighter for the Strum-Unity Fire and Rescue Department. He will be dearly and deeply missed by Lynn, his loving wife of 32 years; son – Dustin Reeves, Chippewa Falls; daughter – Kimberly Reeves, Fargo, N.D.; granddaughter – Alice Berg; parents – Bill and Doris Reeves, Chippewa Falls; four sisters – Linda Reeves (Mark), Nekoosa, Patty (Jeff) Liittschwager, Clive, Iowa, Carol (David) Hakes, Cornell, and Jackie (Andy) Bruns, Greencastle, Pa.; and several beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Augusta, with Pastor Gary Sahs officiating. Norman Richard LaNou


Norman Richard LaNou Norman Richard LaNou was born on the family farm Feb. 24, 1926, to Joseph and Gunda (Hagen) LaNou, and Norman died at his home in Eau Claire, Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, at the age of 93. He was surrounded by his loving family and his pastor, Mary. He grew up in the Town of Anson, and went to the Matott one-room schoolhouse, then graduated from Chi-Hi in 1944. After graduation, Norman started a home building business and later worked with his sons, Bob and Mike, building hundreds of homes in the Chippewa Valley, mainly on the northside of Eau Claire. He was known for his honesty, his exceptional work ethic and his attention to detail. Norman married the love of his life, Joyce Metzenbauer, in Chippewa Falls, at the Methodist Church Oct. 5, 1946. They recently celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary. After Norman’s retirement from building in 1999, he volunteered his expertise with Habitat for Humanity, and he also helped build Rachel’s Place Learning Center at Hope Lutheran Church. He also helped deliver Meals on Wheels for 20 years, even into his 90s. His greatest joys in life were golfing, reading, playing cribbage and watching sports on TV. He also enjoyed his many travels across the United States, Asia and Europe. He is survived by his wife – Joyce; their five children – Bob (Mary), Mike (Laurie), Cindy (Gary) Connie (Pong) and Vickie; his brother – Bob, Tomahawk; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws; sisters – Mable and Grace; and brothers –Ed, Alvin and Louis. Services will take place at noon, Monday, Dec. 16, at Hope Lutheran Church, in Eau Claire. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service, at the church. Burial will be in the Prairie View Cemetery in the Village of Lake Hallie. A luncheon will be served at the church prior to the interment. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice and Pastor Mary Erickson, for all their care and compassion during his difficult last days. A special thanks from the family to daughter and sister, Vickie, for her tireless love, support and devotion to her parents during Norman’s illness. Richard “Rick” M. Lujan Jr. Richard “Rick” M. Lujan Jr., 26, Cadott, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at his home. Rick was born Nov. 8, 1993, to Richard Lujan Sr. and Candice Knowlton, at NAS in Whidbey Island, Wash. He attended and graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School. He then served in the U.S. Army National Guard, where he was currently an active member. Rick worked as a diesel mechanic in the area. He enjoyed hunting up north with his stepfather and stepgrandfather, fishing, music, UTV riding, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived his mother – Candace (Craig) Sedlacek, Cadott; brother – Dylan (Marissa) Lujan, Cadott, sister – Brianna Gannigan, at home; nephew – Carter Lujan; stepsiblings – Shawn (Taylor) Sedlacek, Jenna Sedlacek and Julia Sedlacek, all of Cadott; grandparents – Connie (Ron) Bruyette, Cornell; and Ben (Helen) Lujan, New Mexico; stepgrandparents – Paul (Debbie) Sedlacek, Cadott; numerous aunts; uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father – Richard Lujan Sr.; and his grandfather – Daniel Knowlton. David C. Glenz David C. Glenz passed away, surrounded by his loving family, Monday, Nov. 18, at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire. David was born Jan. 20, 1946, the son of Albert and Vivian Glenz. He graduated from Cadott High School in 1964, and obtained a degree in industrial arts from UW-Stout in Menomonie, in 1969. He was employed at Stanek’s Implements while attending school. David married Karen Briggs Dec. 30, 1967. He taught industrial arts at Cadott High School and farmed in the township of Ludington, where they raised their five children. The couple were married almost 52 years. David’s greatest joy was sharing his love of farming, working in the woods, and hunting with his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife – Karen (Briggs) Glenz; children – Julie (Andrew) Ormsby, Janice (Greg) Nesvacil, Joel (Wendy) Glenz, Glenn (Jennifer) Glenz and Rachel (Brandon) Phelps; grandchildren – Rachel Barr, Isaac Ormsby, Crystal Hanson, Corey Jo (Casey) Rosenbrook, Cole (Brianna Dahl) Hanson, Holly Nesvacil, Brock Nesvacil, Lilly Glenz, Avery Glenz, Josey Glenz, Anna Glenz, Anthony Glenz, Adam Glenz, Jonathan Phelps, Jacob Phelps and Allison Phelps; great-grandchildren – Braelyn Hicks and Stella Rosenbrook; sister – Anna Thompson; brothers-in-law – Dale (Karen) Briggs and Lyle (Kathy) Briggs; sister-in-law – Susan (Gary) Vowinkel; and many nieces and nephews. Vernice Bernice Marion Vernice Bernice Marion, 84, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, with loved ones by her side. Vernice was born to Pearl and Esther (Peterson) Steinmetz, Oct. 6, 1935. She grew up in the New Auburn area, and graduated in 1953, from New Auburn High School. Vernice was united in marriage to James “Jim” Marion Oct. 15, 1953. Together, they had two children, James “Jimmy” and Joanne. They lived in Stanley on the family farm. She was a homemaker all her life. Vernice and Jim also raised over 25 foster children. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and her church, Full Gospel Mission, where she taught Sunday School for several years, and she also had a love for dogs. She moved to Cadott in 2015. Vernice loved visiting with her friends at the apartment, she was always so soft spoken, so they had to listen closely. They were like family to her. She will be dearly missed by Carolyn and Ray Marion, and Chris Jakubowicz, who were always by her side for many years. And in the end, thank you to her other caregivers, Barb Helland and Janet Eichner, and a special thank you to her foster daughter, Tammy Capps, who came to stay with her until the end. She loved you all. And, to St. Joseph’s Hospice for all their love and support. She is survived by her daughter – Joanne (Scott) Creaser; three grandchildren – Chad, Stacy and Jason; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and her caregivers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband – Jim, son – Jimmy; and her brother – Gordy Steinmetz. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, with Pastor Michael Larrabee officiating. Interment will be in the Edson Union Cemetery, Town of Edson, following the service. Visitation will be from 11 a.m., until the time of service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
