Cadott Village Board - You can never have too many pavilions

It was agreed Sept. 3, at the Cadott Village Board meeting, there’s room for another pavilion at Riverview Park, this time, on the west side of the road. The pavilion is to be paid for by a private party, according to Sue Sedlacek, with the question remaining on who pays for the water/ electric hook-up.
“I don’t think there are ever too many bathrooms,” said village president Randy Kuehni, adding that a lot of older people rent the pavilions. “It’s handy to have it in the same building.
The 40x54 structure will have two bathrooms and a serving area. Lynn McIntyre, with Cedar Corp., doesn’t think the pavilion will need state-approved plans, because there is no sprinkler system. Sedlacek agreed to keep in touch with the village, on developments of the pavilion.
“I always thought they could use a pavilion on that side,” said board trustee Ronnie Duncan.
Members were also excited to welcome Timothy Bowman as their new police chief, with him starting later this month. Bowman, who was present for the official hiring, wanted to make sure the village waived the residency requirement; otherwise, he was ready and willing to jump in to improving the police department.
“We’ll have her headed in the right direction,” he said. The board also agreed to get new computers for the village office, public works and waste treatment plant, as the support is ending on Windows 10, the first of October.
“That means our systems won’t be able to run – we won’t be able to receive our critical security updates that are needed,” said clerk April Bruhn.
Bruhn also requested that the board approve her and deputy clerk Sarah Shadis to attend election training Wednesday, Oct. 15, with the office closed in the afternoon. That request was granted, especially since Shadis is in need of election training.
While there, McIntyre shared that the County Hwy. X project continues, and that pipe is in the ground and water/sewer are connected. The north side of the street is widened, and ready for curb and gutter, so it’s moving along.
She also mentioned that the library footings and foundations have been poured, and that the site is graded.
“Progress on the building is going to slow a bit, because they’re waiting for the pre-cast panels to come in,” said McIntyre.
