More housing is never a bad thing in a community, to promote growth and enough space for all. The Cadott School Board realizes this, which is why they approved a utilities easement on the district property, Sept. 8, for EW Real Estate, LLC, for the Winger Acres subdivision.

There’s no cost to the district and if the project has not come to fruition within a certain amount of time, the easement is void.

“If we don’t continue to grow our community, we’re going to see our enrollment go down,” said district administrator Josh Spaeth. “We need housing, that’s important.”

Also during the meeting, Jenni Handrick was sworn in as the newest board member, after the resignation from Kevin Roshell. Handrick was the lone applicant to throw her name in the ring and was welcomed by the board.

Members also accepted $1,000, from Stephen Vuchetich and Jane Koehne, to the lunch account.

As a notice to the public, moving forward, the board meetings will take place at 6 p.m., the second Monday of the month, instead of at 7 p.m. The annual meeting will also be at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 20.

“That’s your chance to state your opinion and set the budget, so forth,” said Spaeth.
