Bring all your neighbors for a fun night together

It’s time once more, for school to begin and what better way to welcome school days, than with an open house resource fair? Lake Holcombe School hosts the community event, Aug. 27, from 4-7 p.m., where families can gain knowledge and understanding of organizations, that provide services and assistance, for a variety of needs. There are also prize drawings, a dunk tank, manned by the Lake Holcombe Education Foundation, as well as music and a free meal for anyone. Participants can also enroll children in the after-school program, meet the teachers and drop off school supplies. To reserve a space for a booth to hand out information or hold a prize giveaway, email Kristine Hemenway, afterschool coordinator, at hemekri@lakeholcombe.k12.wi.us. “This is a wonderful opportunity for you to share your valuable information, in a fun and friendly setting,” said Hemenway. The Helping Hands Club in Holcombe, has many projects going throughout the year, and one of these, is the collection and delivery of fabric, beads, yarn and craft materials, for the SCOPES Program at the Stanley Correctional Facility. SCOPES is a program for inmates, who have earned the privilege to spend time sewing, doing beadwork, painting, knitting and crocheting items, to be given to various charitable organizations.
