Enjoy camaraderie and fun at National Night Out

Mark your calendar, National Night Out (NNO) is back, Wednesday, July 30, from 6-8 p.m., at Mill Yard Park in Cornell, and has even more fun for the whole family. The night is sponsored by the Cornell Clergy Ministerium, in partnership with local emergency service organizations.
As a way to connect with the community members they serve, the Cornell Police Department, Cornell Area Ambulance Service and Cornell Area Fire Department will be on-hand at the event, to answer any questions the public may have. They’ll also have special emergency vehicles to show to the kids and adults.
To sign up for a booth, to provide information on community resources or to host an activity, call 715-239-3708.
Present this year, will be representatives from the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol and the DNR, with Smokey Bear making an appearance, while area businesses/organizations share information and have possible giveaways.
Something that coordinators are excited about, is, new this year, weather permitting, a LifeLink helicopter will land at the park, at 7 p.m., in a 30-minute stop, for tours of the helicopter and demonstrations.
Families can also have a free meal of hot dogs and root beer floats.
“This community event is a fantastic way for families to come out for a FREE evening, of fun and community building,” said NNO planning member Kristine Hemenway. “Come meet your area first responders and enjoy some camaraderie…we also have a ton of great raffle prizes.”
