Bringing big city services to Cornell, in an affordable way

When you think of skincare or getting your health back on track, it’s logical that a small, rural town like Cornell, is not the first place that pops into mind to go for those services. Until now.
Thanks to Cornell native, Dr. Amber Willmarth, The Body Shop Aesthetic & Wellness Center, at 208 Main Street, is ready to listen to what people need and want. That can range from customized facials to treating acne or infrared light therapy for the face.
The business also does injectables, such as Botox, fillers, non-surgical facelifts, non-surgical eyelid lifts, plasma pens, teeth whitening, IV hydration therapy and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, for men or women. There’s also laser hair and tattoo removal, custom hydrofacials, from microderm abrasion to microneedling, to chemical peels.
“Basically, anything non-surgical, I do here,” said Willmarth.
Willmarth, who has been in aesthetics for about 15 years, previously rented a small space at Touch of Class Hair Salon, just up the street, while still working full-time in Eau Claire. Now, Willmarth has cut back her hours in Eau Claire, and is focusing on bringing the services she knows are needed, to Cornell.
“I wanted to have a place in my hometown, because, as you’re growing up, there wasn’t anything,” said Willmarth. “You had to drive. I want to bring what those big cities have, here. ”
Something that won’t lack, is experience to treat the patient, as Willmarth has a doctorate degree in family nurse practition; is nationally board certified as a clinical aesthetic nurse specialist; has certification in plastic surgery;
154912
certification in functional medicine; and will finish school in December, with a doctorate in educational nursing.
“In my ‘spare time,’ I do online teaching for nurses,” she said.
In addition to what Willmarth offers at The Body Shop, there’s also foot care, provided by Andrea Christenson Kneading Hands Foot Care, who does medical and nonmedical treatments, and nail trims. Now and then, Betty Tripp, with Therapeutic Massage, takes clients in the shop, while Ella Hartzell specializes in wedding makeup services.
“It’s very affordable,” said Willmarth, of the variety of things available to the community. “I want everybody to be able to spend a little money on themselves…whatever it is.”
It’s also important to her to have good people in the shop, in the form of Christenson, Hartzell and Tripp.
“I want to build a space…to come here and feel welcomed,” said Willmarth.
Much of the services are by appointment, with Willmarth there Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and Tuesday and Thursday evenings. She can be reached for consultation at thebodyshopwi.org or 715827-0096.
Whether it’s to reduce wrinkles, minimize scars or work on weight loss, Willmarth creates a customized plan for each client, taking the time to see what works for them.
“I treat the patient, not the problem,” said Willmarth. “Building your rapport with your patient, is really important.”
