It’s official, the new Cadott Community Library building is almost underway, as the Cadott Village Board awarded the FFP construction contract to Hoeft Builders, June 2. Out of the five bidders for the project, Hoeft came in at $2,543,000 million and with a good reputation, were the ones selected for the project.
“Good company, solid company,” said Corey Scheidler, Cedar Corp, adding that Luke Rykal, a Cadott native, is one of the partners of the building company. “That still leaves you plenty of money left in the contingency.”
With a few T’s crossed and some I’s dotted, the project can begin in earnest, with ground broken this summer.
The board also approved a Conditional Use Permit for Amber and Chris Amadon, to allow a hobby farm, in the Agricultural District A-1. The two plan to have a couple cows, a couple pigs and some turkeys, following the ordinance, which does not permit for a large amount of animals.
“As long as they follow the ordinance, I think they’ll be fine and dandy,” said board trustee Terry Licht.
Members also approved a Conditional Use Permit for Cookie Kaste, with Kaste Ghorayeb Properties, for a garage that exceeds 1,200 square feet of floor area and three garage stalls. Kaste wants to construct the structure just over 1,600 feet, with four garage stalls, to be used for storage.
“You can never have too much storage,” said board president Randy Kuehni.
Members also accepted the resignation of police chief Daryl Pries.
