Nabor Days filled with new events for community

Nabor Days is back and filled with events designed to provide family-focused fun for the community. With more than a year to set the schedule, coordinators packed the three-day event July 23-25, with activities for all ages.

“We are beyond excited to be able to host Nabor Days this year,” said coordinator Nicole Ebert.

The weekend kicks off Friday, with youth fair exhibits in West Riverview Park from 4-7 p.m., with a bean bag tournament at 6 p.m. by the beer tent. Also happening that night, is the Nabor Days royalty pageant and grand marshal presentation at 6:30 p.m., in the high school auditorium, followed by paid admission to a truck and tractor pull at 7 p.m., in East Riverview Park.

Live music is also on tap in the beer tent, from 8 p.m. to midnight, by the Rattle Can Red Band.

Moving to Saturday’s line-up, the day begins at 8 a.m., with a pancake breakfast available in the Historical Society building until noon. A 5K run/walk also takes place at 8 a.m., near the beer tent, followed by a 9 a.m. 800-meter kids dash in that location.

The youth 4-H Fair Cattle Show is up next, at 10:30 a.m., with a craft and vendor fair from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The family fun zone is the same time in the west park, with wristbands for attractions available for purchase.

Always a favorite, the mud bog, sponsored by the Cadott Lions Club, starts at noon, with ages five and under free to enter. Those who want a slower paced activity, can take part in a dart tournament at the beer tent.

BINGO begins at 1 p.m., with duck races at 3 p.m. More live music plays from 3:30-7:30 p.m., from Man2Man, and from 8 p.m. to midnight, from EverRoad.

But that’s not all.

“We will be partnering with The Village Scoop to provide a free sundae bar before the fireworks on Saturday,” said Ebert.

Sundaes will be served in the Lions pavilion at the east park, beginning at 8:30 p.m., prior to a fireworks display at dusk.

Heading into the final day, a pancake breakfast starts at 8 a.m., with a 10 a.m. church service in the east park by Big Drywood Lutheran Church. There’s also a storytime and craft at 11 a.m., provided by the Cadott Community Library.

A parade takes place at 1 p.m., heading up Main Street and ending at the Cadott High School. Then, a pedal pull happens at 2 p.m., in the west park, with the family fun zone until 6 p.m.

BonaFide provides free music from 2-6 p.m., and a local’s bean bag tournament starts at 2:30 p.m. by the beer tent.

“We hope to see everyone out and about,” said Ebert.
