Dorchester Days set for this weekend

Four days of fun are in store for those who visit Dorchester this weekend, as the village celebrates its 67th annual namesake festival.

Dorchester Days will kick off on Thursday with a “Thirsty Thursday” party at the beer tent and food stand.

Bags will start flying at 6:30 p.m. for the annual bag tournament outside Memorial Hall. Registrations are due by 6 p.m. by texting Wayne at 715-465-0242.

Daily bingo games will also start on Thursday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. Bingo will be played again on Friday night, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday, from 2 to 6 p.m. both days.

Badgerland Midways, Rides & Amusements will open up their rides at 5 p.m. on Friday night, and reopen at noon on both Saturday and Sunday.

Friday will also feature championship tractor pulling starting at 6:30 p.m., following registration from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The winner of the 11,500-pound class will receive a $1,000 gift certificate from Meyer Manufacturing. Contact Doug at 715-613-9600 with questions.

The ever-popular Boogie & the Yo-Yoz will perform live starting at 9 p.m. on Friday night.

Saturday will bring in the 23rd annual car, truck and antique tractor show, with registration running from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., and awards being presented at 2:30 p.m.

Crafters and vendors will also be setting up on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., next to the car show. Contact Brandi at 715-7216024 if interested.

The USA Outdoor Mini Cornhole Championship will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, with competition divided into singles, doubles and juniors classes. There is a per-person, per-event fee for participating. Text Wayne at 715-465-0242 with questions.

Stetsin & Lace, a country/rock band from Menomonee Falls, will start performing at 8 p.m. under the tent.

Grilling starts right away at 8 a.m. on Sunday for the Rib Fest competition located near the big tent and band stage. Participants are asked to bring their own grills, with ribs being supplied by Pinter’s Packaging.

The grilling will conclude at 2:30 p.m., followed by an awards presentation at 3:30 p.m. To pre-register, contact Al at 715-3161442.

Dorchester’s famous charcoal chicken dinner will be served at Memorial Hall, starting at 10:30 a.m. and going as long as the food lasts. Carry-outs are available.

Registration will start at noon for the annual Dorchester Days parade, which will get rolling at 1 p.m.

Pedal pulls will start at 2:30 p.m. near the food stand, with registration at 2 p.m.

Central Wisconsin ATV Pullers will start their annual competition at 2 p.m. on Sunday, featuring garden tractors, ATVs, UTVs and more. All classes are open to the public, and admission is free. Contact Brandi at 715721-6024 for more information.
