Mary Jicinsky

Mary M. Jicinsky, age 61 of Colby, passed away on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at Wausau Aspirus with her family at her side after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

The daughter of Peter and Evelyn Beyerl, Mary Margaret Beyerl was born on February 4, 1964. She was raised in a loving home with eleven siblings. Mary attended St. Mary’s School through eighth grade and graduated from Colby High School in 1982. After graduation, she earned her cosmetology license through the State College of Beauty Culture.

On August 31, 1985, she married the one she would spend the next 40 years with, Wayne Jicinsky of Colby. They welcomed three children: Travis, Aaron and Jenna, who she dedicated her life to. Mary raised her children to share her passion for animals and filled their home with a variety of pets. In addition to being a devoted mother, Mary enjoyed crafting, gardening, kayaking, hiking and being outdoors with family. Mary had a gift of making people feel loved, both through her delicious cooking and by bringing family and friends together to create forever lasting memories.

Mary’s faith guided her throughout her life. A devout Christian, she was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Parish, where she received all the sacraments, and she lovingly shared her faith with her family. She was blessed with seven godchildren: Renae Luedtke, Katie Willner, Tyler Jicinsky, James Beyerl, Walker Beyerl, Oliver Beyerl and Levi Beyerl. Mary is survived by her husband, Wayne Jicinsky, Colby; children: Travis (Ally) Jicinsky, Unity, and Jenna (Konner) Kitzhaber, Greenwood; siblings: John Beyerl, Medford, Joan (Mike) Pierner, Suamico, Tom (Diane) Beyerl, Wausau, Kathy (Les) Willner, Colby, Pat Beyerl, Eau Claire, Patsy Beyerl, Colorado Springs, Colo., Barb (Kent) Palmerton, Colby, Caryl (Brad) Kops, Unity, Cheryl Beyerl, Colby, Mike (Jenny Toboyek) Beyerl, Mosinee and Dennis “Bubba” (Renelyn) Beyerl, Colby; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Evelyn Beyerl, and son, Aaron Jicinsky.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at St. Mary Help of Christian Parish in Colby with Father Keith Kitzhaber presiding. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Colby. Family and friends are welcome from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Dinner will be served at the Colby Lions Shelter.
