Terry Robert Zrutskie, 82, of Palm Bay, Fla., was greeted by angels on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will take place Friday, July 18 (15) at The Junction, Marathon Park, Wausau. All are welcome. We will remember Terry, his love and his life, filled with humor, smiles, and dedication without hesitation.
Terry was born November 1,1942, to Harry and Margaret (Kocian) Zrutskie of Colby, the oldest of four children. He graduated from Colby High School in 1961 and worked for the American Gas Co. He then began his 23 year career as deputy with the Marathon County Sheriffs Department. Simultaneously, he served 20 years in the 32nd Division of the National Guards, earning positions of Lieutenant and Captain.
On July 20, 1963, he was united in marriage to Judith “Jude” Will. In their 61 years of marriage they welcomed daughters Tammy Sue (Curt) Schleicher of Merrill and Marlee Kay Zrutskie of Wausau; three grandchildren: Tori Jo Seubert, Collin (Shaylan) Seubert and Kelsey (Gregory) Marrano, and 9% great-grandchildren: Brynlie, Zavier, Sterling, Kai, Noah, Cort (CC), Caleb (JC), Sophie, Josie and ?. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Linda Bruesewitz and brother, Dusty (Robin) Zrutskie;, brothers-in-law: Denny Bruesewitz and Duane Runge, and in-law parents, Ralph and Arlene Will.
He is survived by his wife, his daughters, grandchildren and their children, as well as his sister, Dawn (Terry 'Bub') Littleton of Unity, her family, and the families of Linda and Dusty. He is further survived by his Will sibling-in-laws: JoAnn Runge, Robert (Kim) Will, Lynette (Dave Dudley) Will and Rona Will.
Terry loved being with people. In retirement, he was a council member in his Palm Bay Church, 1st Vice at the Florida American Legion Post 81, and member/chaplain for the Blue Knights. Being back in Wisconsin most summers, he and Jude volunteered at the OshKosh EAA Fly-In and the Edgar Steam Engine Days. Terry loved his family, ice cream & cookies, Harley riding, singing/dancing, Florida's warm weather, his hand-in-hand meal prayers, and especially helping his fellow Americans. Terry earned his place above!
