R EPORTS Fatal crash
On June 1, at 6:15 a.m., Taylor County Sheriff’s department was notified of a one vehicle crash on Gibson Dr. in the town of Little Black. According to the crash report, a vehicle operated by Eric Doberstein, 28, of Withee, was traveling northbound on Gibson Dr. The vehicle drifted off the roadway into the eastern ditch to a field access driveway, struck the culvert, and became airborne. The vehicle came back down approximately 140 feet north of the driveway and began to roll. The driver was ejected through the driver’s side window and the truck continued to roll. The driver came to a rest in the field and the vehicle continued to roll to the northwest of the driver. The vehicle rolled into a power pole and came to rest on the roof of the vehicle. The report indicates the driver was deceased upon arrival. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
One vehicle crashes
On May 31, at 2:33 p.m., a vehicle operated by Hope Zoellick, 22, of Medford, was traveling east on Park Road in the town of Westboro. According to the crash report, Zoellick swerved to missed a vehicle that was traveling into her lane and struck a tree in the south side ditch. The driver was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
Two vehicle crashes
On June 3, at 12:31 p.m., a vehicle operated by Stefanie Matthias, 40, of Stetsonville, ran into the back of a vehicle operated by Kristina Czarnezki, 58, of Westboro, while it was stopped at the intersection of Broadway Ave. (Hwy 64) and 8th St. (Hwy 13) in the city of Medford. According to the crash report, Matthias told officers she believed the Czarnezki vehicle was going to drive through the intersection but remained stopped. There were scratches to the rear bumper of the Czarnezki vehicle and no damage to the Matthias vehicle.
One June 1, at 11:49 a.m., a vehicle operated by Robert Benada, 80, of Neenah, back into a parked, unoccupied vehicle owned by Lori Eisch, 63, of Medford, in the parking lot at 125. S. 8th St. in Medford. According to the crash report, the Eisch vehicle had minor damage to the passenger side rear.
Deer related crashes
On June 3, at 5:44 a.m., a vehicle operated by Nathan Retterath, 22, of Stetsonville, struck a deer while westbound on CTH O in the town of Browning. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
On June 2, at 2:29 p.m., a vehicle operated by Erin Madlon, 44, of Gilman, struck a deer while southbound on Hwy 73 in the town of Taft. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
On June 1, at 9:15 p.m., a vehicle operated by Jack Hempe, 50, of Rib Lake, struck a deer while northbound on Hwy 102 in the town of Rib Lake. The vehicle sustained functional damage.
On May 26, at 12:23 a.m., a vehicle operated by Kylee Manecke, 21, of Stratford, was driving southbound on Hwy 97 in the town of Goodrich, and hit a deer that was crossing the roadway. The vehicle came to rest on the west shoulder of Hwy 97. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
