The Stetsonville band marched into town Wednesday about eleven o’clock with sailor Von Hassen at their head, the band treating us then as it did afterwards at different times during the day, to a well played section.

May 28, 1925 Flying Circus Coming

The Taylor County Fair Association has booked the Flying Circus for a performance Wednesday, June 10th. This will be considerably like the aerial circus which visited Medford last year, with some added features.

75 Years Ago June 1, 1950 City Band in Summer Concert

Series of Six on Court House Lawn The first of a series of six outdoor summer concerts by the Medford municipal band will be held Tuesday evening at 8:00 o’clock on the lawn at the court house in Medford. Under the directorship of Ralph Abrahamson, music director of Medford city schools, the band will use the terrace fronting the north door of the court house to stage the concert.

The civic music organization was organized a year ago and is sponsored by the city of Medford. Composed of 35 members, the band is headed by August Roeber, manager. Other officers are Don Patterson, librarian, and Bill Kramer, secretary-treasurer.

50 Years Ago May 29, 1975 Holstein Twilight Meet Set June 4 on Area Farm

The popular annual Holstein twilight meeting, sponsored by the Price-Taylor Holstein Assn., will be held Wednesday starting at 8 o’clock on the Ora and Glenn Harder farm, town of Greenwood. The Harder farm is located 5 miles east of highway 13 on county trunk M and a mile north.

In making the announcement this week county agent Tom Koszarek, Medford, said the program was designed to interest the entire family. A large crowd is expected to attend again this year.

May 25, 2000 Medford to start new ‘Taylor County Alternative High School’

The Medford School District was recently awarded a star grant to set up an alternative school which will assist students at risk of not graduating.

The new alternative school will be called The Taylor County Alternative High School (TCAHS), as it was the Medford School District’s hope to set it up as a countywide institution. However, Gilman School District representatives had stated they do not wish to be a part of the program. The Rib Lake School District expressed interest in the proposal, so the Medford School District is working on a conjoined effort between the two Districts.

10 Years Ago May 28, 2015 Students notice the Eggert effort

Marilyn Eggert selected as the Medford Area Senior High School educator of the year Marilyn Eggert said she loves her job as a special education aide at Medford Area Senior High. The love shows every day and students noticed this year as she was selected educator of the year. The award, sponsored by the MASH student council, was presented on Thursday morning during the academic excellence assembly in the gymnasium.
