Jacki Stelzel joins Taylored Family Care in Medford

Family nurse practitioner Jacki Stelzel has joined the team at Taylored Family Care Clinic in Medford.
A Colby graduate, Stelzel grew up there and has been in Medford for the last 19 years. She started her career as a CNA at the age of 17. At the time, she didn’t know she was starting a lifelong career in healthcare, but something must have clicked for Stelzel as she became a nurse at the age of 23.
She went back to school to become a nurse practitioner at the urging of her friend, Brianna. Stelzel graduated from Perdue Global last October. She recently joined the group at Taylored and found herself exactly where she’d hoped to be.
“To be kind of corny it’s always been my dream job, I really like the model of care that they provide, they have great people, I think it’s thorough but casual, more holistic,” Stelzel said of her new employment. “I'm excited for this opportunity, I'm looking forward to it.”
She enjoys meeting people where they’re at in each stage of life. Stelzel states that she’s a labor and delivery nurse at heart, having spent a good portion of her nursing career in that field, but that she wanted to see young children, as well as adults and elderly individuals.
“I feel that each season of life has an important value in our journey and I feel that whether it’s having a baby, or facing an illness, or just celebrating the joys of life, it’s important to have support and resources,” Stelzel said. She encourages people who are on the fence about checking out the clinic to take the leap, stating that the team at Taylored takes their time to get to know their patients during visits to establish care, finding a plan and a starting point that works for each individual. Stelzel reports that they’re responsive, and that appointments aren’t usually difficult to come by.
Taylored Family Care Clinic is a cash clinic and makes their patients aware of fees upfront, taking the guesswork out of costs. In addition they offer self-directed labs in which people can request lab tests and receive results without a provider’s order or insurance involvement. Stelzel appreciates their preventative medicine, helping patients to be proactive about their health rather than reactive. She also embraces Taylored’s acceptance of alternative therapies, such as chiropractic care and acupuncture.
“It’s important to hit all of those dimensions in life, we have a lot of great people in town,” Stelzel said of the services offered in the area.
Stelzel and her husband, Geno, have three wonderful children; a 20 year old son, an 18 year old son, and a 13 year old daughter. When she finally has free time, she enjoys spending it outdoors by walking her dogs Milly and Sofie, riding her bike, fishing with her husband and kids, and especially visiting family.
