The Stratford Tigers hosted a track and field meet last Thursday, on a beautiful 70-degree plus spring day in Wisconsin. Competitors also heated up the track, with several athletes from Loyal, Spencer, and Greenwood scoring points for their respective teams. Athletes had to place in the top eight to score points. Results were as follows.

Loyal The girls 4x200m relay placed first. Team members were Summer Smith, Hope Peroshek, Noelle Teschner and Addysen Wolf. Their time was 1:49.88. The 4x100m relay took fourth with a time of 53.88. Team members were Smith, Peroshek, Teschner, and Lillian Boushon.

Wolf took second in the 100m dash at 12.85 seconds and third in the 200m dash at 26.15. Smith took third in the triple jump with a distance of 32 feet, 6.25 inches (32-6.25). Peroshek placed fourth in the discus throw with a distance of 89-9. Olivia Nikolai placed seventh in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 7 feet, as well as fourth in the 100m hurdles, with a time of 20.04. Teschner placed eighth in the 200m dash at 28.68. The girls took eighth out of 12 teams, scoring 47 points. Winning the meet was the home team. Stratford had 127.5 points, well above second-place Owen-Withee with 99.5.

On the boys’ side, Payton Tsai took fourth in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 11-6. Jaden Smith took eighth in the shot put with a throw of 38-3. The boys 4x100m relay took eighth place at 49.24 seconds. Team members were Jacob Schmidt, Joe Treffinger, Andrew Lavengood, and Jerome Buchanan. The boys placed 11th out of 11 teams with 7 points. Stratford won on the boys side as well, with 211 points. The next closest team was Edgar with 142 points.

Spencer On the boys’ side, Breckin Miller won the pole vault, clearing the bar at 14 feet. He also won the 110m hurdles, crossing the finish line in just under 16 seconds (15.99). Efrain Olguin-Cano placed sixth in the long jump at 18-8.5

and fifth in the 200m dash at 24.5. The boys 4x200m relay consisting of Teddy Meyer, Kainan Davis, Mason Dieringer, and Sam Helgestad took sixth place with a time of 1:41.94. The boys 4x100m relay came in fifth place at 45.21. Team members were Jackson Hoeper, Efrain Olguin-Cano, Benjamin Felgner, and Miller. The Spencer boys placed seventh out of 11 teams with 35 points.

On the girls’ side, Caitlin Clark took seventh in the long jump, with a distance of 13-11.25, and sixth in the 200m dash, completing her race in 28.61 seconds. Kaitlin Radue tied for seventh in her event, the discus throw, with a throw of 85-6. The girls 4x200m relay placed sixth with a time of 2:04.57. Team members were Alina Jackson, Abril Alvarez Macias, Ashley Fitzgerald, and Rachel Nieman. The girls 4x100m relay placed fifth with a time of 54.04. Team members were Katherine Yorgey, Brooklyn Baumgarten, Nieman, and Clark. The Rocket girls took 11th out of 12 teams with 14.5 points.

Greenwood Greenwood had two point scorers. Faith Kolano took ninth in the 1,600m run, but one of the higher-placed runners was disqualified, allowing Kolano to score a point. She finished in 6:11.47.

Renaya Horvath also scored in three events in the wheelchair division. She took first in the mixed shot put wheelchair with a throw of 13-11.75. She also placed first in the wheelchair 100m dash at 27.02, as well as in the wheelchair 400m dash at 1:43.87.
