Stratford’s varsity softball squad defeated Edgar, 4-1, on the road Thursday before losing to Auburndale, 7-3, on the road Friday. Junior Tria Tubbs struck out 15 Edgar batters in the complete-game win. Tigers sophomore second baseman Dakota Knetter led the offense with two RBIs. Knetter again led Stratford in hitting against Auburndale by batting a perfect three for three with two RBIs and a run scored.

Tigers senior Laney Pankratz was the winning pitcher in the team’s 12-1 win in five innings against Mondovi in Saturday’s Thorp Slamfest. Knetter batted a perfect four for four with three RBIs and two runs scored. Tubbs was the winning pitcher in Stratford’s 10-0 win against Chippewa Falls McDonell in the final game of the Thorp Slamfest. Senior catcher Emma Roeper batted three for four with three RBIs. Laney Pankratz was three for four with three RBIs and three runs scored. Tubbs hit three for three with two RBIs.

Sophomore center fielder Carly Pankratz was two for three with three runs scored.

Stratford lost to Wisconsin Rapids Assumption, 2-0, on Tuesday at home.

Raiders win tourney games

Marathon’s varsity softball team beat Blair-Taylor, 5-3, in the first game of Saturday’s Thorp Slamfest. Junior Allison Podjaski struck out seven batters to earn the pitching win. Marathon then defeated Glenwood City, 16-3, in the final game of the tournament on Saturday. Sophomore Tyla Beilke-Seubert struck out six hitters to earn the pitching win. Junior center fielder Mylee Haehlke batted two for four with three RBIs and a run scored. Freshman left fielder Rehgan Martin hit two for three with two RBIs and two runs scored.

‘Jays, ‘Cats lose games

The Athens varsity softball team lost both of tis Thorp SlamFest games on Saturday, 8-0 to Thorp and 4-0 to Mondovi. Edgar’s varsity softball team lost both of its Gilman SlamFest tournament games on Saturday, 5-4 to Medford and 12-11 to Tomahawk.
