Bernice N. Budrus Bernice N. Budrus

1920-2025

Bernice N. Budrus, 104, of Mosinee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025 under hospice care at Rennes Health & Rehab in Weston. She was born on Aug. 2, 1920 in Lublin, the fourth child of the late Walter and Stella (Zaba) Woytowicz. On June 30, 1945 Bernice was united in marriage to George J. Budrus and together they owned and operated Budrus Elevator in Gilman for many years. Bernice was devoted to her faith and her church and had too many interests and hobbies to list. However, her greatest enjoyment came from gardening and the meticulous manner she kept their yard. With her knack for landscaping and an abundance of flowers their yard was amazing throughout the seasons; year after year.

Bernice is survived by many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and even great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Woytowicz. She was preceded in death by her husband of 79 years, George; her sisters, Jean Zajac, Lottie Nowicki; and Woytowicz brothers, John, Walter, Ted, Stanley, Edward, Milton and William.

A wake for Bernice will be held on Thursday, May 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the Gilman Funeral Home with a Parish Service at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 9 at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church-Lublin with Father John Kutek officiating and Father Marion Talaga co-officiating. Visitation on Friday at church starting at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.

Bernice’s family wishes to say thank you to the doctors and nursing staff of Aspirus Hospital and the wonderful staff at Rennes Health and Rehab who took such good care of her. We would also like to thank Larue Borth, George and Bernice’s dear friend who provided extraordinary care and assistance to them in their final years. We will be forever grateful to you!
