David Rainey
David M. Rainey, 70, Loyal, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, on Monday, April 28, 2025. Funeral services will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home, in Loyal, on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 2 p.m., with visitation from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.
David Manuel Rainey was born on Jan. 8, 1955, in Birmingham, Ala., to Raymond and Florence (Ford) Rainey. He was raised and received his education around the Birmingham area until moving to North Chicago when he was 14 years old. David worked various jobs in Illinois, but spent most of his time working for Kerley Ink in Broadview, Ill. He was united in marriage to Catherine A. Prusinski on Oct. 16, 1994, in Chicago. They moved to Loyal in 2004, and have resided there since.
He had many interests, but especially enjoyed fishing, canoeing, spending time with family and friends, and David liked his beer.
David is survived by four sons: Mark Cross of Iron Mountain, Mich., David Cross (Brenda Ortiz) of Elmwood Park, Ill., and Michael Cross and William Cross, both of Fayetteville, Tenn.; two stepsons: Paul Prusinski of Oshkosh, and Stanley Prusinski of Marshfield; six grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Rainey and Howard “Woody” Rainey, both of Bessemer, Ala.; one sister, Pamela (Alberto) Pagan of Florida; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
