Senior Jack Tubbs has been selected as Stratford High School’s 11th WIAA Scholar Athlete in school history.

Tubbs is a three-time football state champion who was named Marawood Conference Most Valuable Player during his senior year of football. The 4.0 student earned first team all-conference honors in wrestling, football and baseball. He helped the Tigers wrestling team make two state appearances.

As a senior, Tubbs was recognized as his team’s Most Valuable Player in football.

He shared the following in his essay: “One motto that has really shaped my character is reminding myself I’m never going to look back and wish I didn’t try as hard. Instead, I want to look back and be able to say I gave it all I had. I wouldn’t have had the success I have had so far without working hard and putting in onehundred percent effort.” Tubbs will attend St. Mary’s University in Minnesota to study finance and play baseball. He joins the following Stratford WIAA Scholar Athletes from 1984 until now: Todd Schoenherr in 1993, Shawn Kitchner in 2003, Gregory Bubolz in 2004, Dustin Bauman in 2006, Jordan Bauman in 2009, Indy Spindler in 2010, Kamren Bornbach in 2017, Dylan Schoenherr in 2019, Max Schwabe in 2020 and Jackson Ormond in 2023.

Athens High School has eight WIAA Scholar Athletes from 1984 until now including Kelly Daniels in 1986, Kandra Weiler in 1993, Matthew Marohl in 1994, Jamie Luetschwager in 1997, Darren Drewek in 2005, Sunni Massop in 2007, Kyncaide Diedrich in 2015 and Kenadi Diedrich in 2019.

Edgar High School has 12 WIAA Scholar Athletes from 1984 until now including Chad Guenther in 1997, Patrick Engleright in 1998, Jeremy Graveen in 1999, Tyler Berg in 2000, Jordan Sinz in 2001, Ashley Lienhardt in 2002, Andrew Lukasko in 2007, Justin Sinz in 2010, Kira Pittman in 2013, Ty Guden in 2019, Marissa Ellenbecker in 2020 and Teegan Streit in 2024.

Marathon High School has three WIAA Scholar Athletes from 1984 until now including Joseph Westfall in 1992, Emily Kind in 2015 and Amanda Kind in 2017.
