R EPORTS One vehicle crashes
On July 14 at 7:23 p.m., a vehicle operated by Aidan Winkel, 16, of Chili was traveling southbound on Hwy 13 in the town of Medford. The driver told the deputy that they zoned out due to being tired and felt their vehicle driving on the gravel shoulder. The driver then stated he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the power pole owned by the Medford Electric Utility. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
One July 7, at 1:30 p.m., a vehicle operated by Edward Motel, 63, of Mason, was northbound on Castle Dr. in the town of Little Black. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in the east ditch. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Motel was cited for failure of operator to notify police of an accident.
On July 4, at 3:07 p.m., law enforcement was notified of a crash that occurred northbound on CTH B in the town of Ford. According to the crash report, a vehicle operated by Caleb Thompson, 20, of Gilman, was traveling northbound on CTH B, the operator advised that the brakes locked up causing the vehicle to swerve. The vehicle entered the western ditch and rolled onto the roof. The operator left the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. Operator advised he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Thompson was cited for failure to notify police of an accident and for failure to wear seatbelt. The vehicle was removed from the ditch and towed from the scene.
On July 4, at 3 a.m., a vehicle operated by Shannon Fye, 26, of Gilman, was traveling eastbound on Spur Rd., near W14635 Spur Rd. in the town of Jump River. Fye’s vehicle crossed the center line going into the north side ditch and striking a tree where it came to rest. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage. Fye was cited for failure of operator to notify police of an accident, operate a motor vehicle without insurance, and inattentive driving.
Two vehicle crashes
On July 5 at 12:34 p.m. a vehicle operated by Cody Cypher, 30, of Medford, was traveling southbound on Hwy 13 with two children age 4 and 9 as passengers. Malinda Gumz, 49, of Stetsonville. was stopped on Hwy 13 in the village of Stetsonville, waiting to make an eastbound turn onto Mink Ave. Cypher failed to notice Gumz’s vehicle and struck it in the rear of the vehicle. Gumz’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. The southbound lane was closed from 12:43 p.m. to 1:48 p.m. Cypher was cited for inattentive driving.
On July 16 at 4:17 p.m., a vehicle driven by Bailey Eloranta, 18, of Medford, was traveling eastbound on E Perkins St. A vehicle driven by Daniel Gustafson, 44, of Medford, was traveling westbound on E. Perkins St. When Eloranta reached the intersection of S 8th St. (Hwy 13), she attempted to make a left turn and continue northbound on S. 8th St. Eloranta made this turn in front of Gustafson, as he was also entering the intersection. Eloranta stated she did not see Gustafson as it was approaching. The driver's side front corner of Gustafson’s vehicle struck the front passenger's side corner of Eloranta’s vehicle.
Car vs. Deer
On July 15 at 1:30 a.m., a vehicle operated by Alexa Zvolena, 16, of Medford, struck a deer while southbound on Hwy 13 in the town of Chelsea. The vehicle had functional damage.
On July 10 at 8 p.m., a vehicle operated by Bernice Solie, 84, of Thorp, struck a deer while driving westbound on Hwy 64 in the town of Grover. The vehicle had functional damage to the left side front and left front corner.
OnJuly10at2:21p.m.,avehicleoperatedbySusanUrquide, 50, of Chicago, struck a deer while driving westbound on CTH M in the town of Greenwood. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
On July 9, at 9:09 p.m., a vehicle operated by Sandra Bradley, 60, of Medford, struck a deer while driving northbound on CTH E in the town of Medford. The vehicle was towed but not due to disabling damage. There was damage to the front of the vehicle.
On July 9, at 2:42 p.m., a vehicle operated by Larissa Roiger, 42, of Rib Lake, struck a deer while westbound on CTH M in the town of Greenwood. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage to its right front corner, right side front, left side front, left front corner and front.
On July 8, at 5:06 a.m., a vehicle operated by Lynne Blume, 43, of Owen, struck a deer while eastbound on CTH O in the town of Holway. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage to its front and right front corner.
On June 7, at 5:46 p.m., a vehicle operated by Evan Paul, 17, of Medford, struck a deer while on Gibson Dr. in the town of Little Black. The vehicle received minor damage.
