Detours aheads
After weeks of delays due to weather, the milling and repaving work on Hwy 64 in Medford is finally in full swing.
The road is closed at the railroad crossing just west of Main Street. The remainder of the road is open for local traffic. Railroad crews were busy on Monday replacing the ties and rails at the crossing. The new crossing will have blacktop up to and between the rails, making it easier to maintain and creating a smoother and less noisy crossing for motorists and residents.
On the remainder of the road, crews from American Asphalt are milling and grinding about an inch of the existing blacktop and will overlay with several inches of new blacktop to establish a crown in the center of the road and improve water run-off.
