Clark County Sheriff’s Office sergeant arrested on child enticement charges

A sergeant with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office was arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of a child and child enticement, among other charges.

Last Wednesday, June 12, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the village of Spencer, according to a press release from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office. The Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Marathon County Sheriff’s Offi ce assisted in serving the warrant. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation. The suspect was identified as a sergeant with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

As a result of the investigation and search warrant, the suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Taylor County Jail on charges of sexual exploitation of a child, child enticement, threats to injure or accuse of crime, and threats to communicate derogatory information.

Abond hearing was held, and the suspect was released on a $2,500 cash bond along with a $10,000 signature bond.

According to the press release from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, the name of the Clark County sergeant is being withheld pending further investigation.

The press release also stated that the Clark County Sheriff’s Office had been fully cooperating with the investigation.
