Dorchester Days’ 66th celebration set for this weekend


The village of Dorchester will welcome in people from all over central Wisconsin this weekend for the 66th annual celebration of Dorchester Days.
Thursday, June 13
The event will begin on Thursday, June 13 as the food stand and beer tent will be open and the bingo balls will be rolling. Bingo begins at 6 p.m. The beer tent will also have $1 beer.
To accompany bingo, a bag tournament with bust rules will be played.
Friday, June 14
The tractor pulls rumble into town on Friday as Championship Tractor Pulling will begin at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for attendees over the age of 12 while all spectators 12 and under can enter for free. Fireworks by Bid Daddy’s Fireworks will follow the pulls. Music by Boogie and the Yo-Yoz will begin at 9 p.m.
Saturday, June 15
A jam packed Saturday will get started with breakfast at Memorial Hall. Breakfast will be served starting at 8 a.m. and will go until the food is gone. Registration for the car, truck and antique tractor show will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 10:30 a.m. with awards being held at 2:30 p.m.
The Bloody Mary 5k run, walk and crawl will begin at 10 a.m. This event is a 5k/1 Mile Run/Walk on flat village streets, or a short crawl to Tapper’s Bar. The event starts in front of the Dorchester Days Beer Tent on W. Washing-

TO BE REVEALED - A dedication will be held for the Dorchester Veterans Memorial on Saturday, June 15 at 1:30 p.m. The memorial dons the names of veterans who either lived, or had family who had lived in Dorchester. A shuttle will be available to take spectators from Memorial Hall to the park on Saturday.

The marquee event will be held at 1:30 p.m. as the Dorchester Veterans Memorial dedication ceremony will be held at Dorchester Park. Shuttle vehicles will be available from Memorial Hall. A pie and ice cream social will be held at 3 p.m.
Pulling will be back on Saturday night as the Mid-State Pullers of Wisconsin will be in town for truck pulls beginning at 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for attendees over the age of 12 while all spectators 12 and under can enter for free. Musical entertainment will be provided by Ember at 8 p.m.
Sunday, June 16
Father’s Day at Dorchester Days will kick off with a charcoal chicken dinner beginning at 10:30 a.m. Carry outs are available. A rib cooking contest will begin with ribs being available at 8 a.m. Ribs will be supplied by Pinter’s Packaging. Contestants will bring their own grill and grilling will be done by 2:30 p.m. Awards will be given out at 3:30 p.m.
The Dorchester Days parade will be held at 1 p.m. with registration beginning at noon. The pulling will continue on Sunday as the Central Wisconsin ATV pullers will take the track at 2 p.m. Garden tractors, ATVs and UTVs will be putting their muscle on display.

All weekend
A number of events will be held all weekend as the 66th celebration of Dorchester Days takes place. Badgerland Midways, rides and amusements will be providing carnival entertainment on Friday from 5 p.m. to close, Saturday from noon to close and Sunday from noon to close. Music all three days will be held under a tent and Bingo will begin on Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
At Memorial Hall, Veteran displays and Dorchester apparel will be available to see and purchase.
