Gilman 12, Owen-Withee 2

On Thursday, runs didn’t quite come as easily as they did for Gilman in a 20-0 win at Owen-Withee last month, but the Pirates still ended the home matchup early, taking a 12-2 win in six innings.

Stuner got the win, allowing four hits, striking out two and walking none. Offensively, Gilman had 10 hits, including three from Mann and two from Chaplinski.

The Pirates struck for three runs in the first inning, with Kroeplin’s RBI double being the big hit. Mann and Chaplinski led off the third with doubles. Both scored as Rosemeyer came through with a single later in the inning to make it 5-1.

James singled and Soper reached on a bunt and both eventually scored in the fourth. A five-run sixth ended the game. Mann had an RBI double and Chaplinski added a run-scoring single. Soper scored three runs in the win, adding a single, a sacrifice and a walk.
