Join Medford schools in celebrating week of the Young Child April 6-12

The Medford school district will be celebrating Week of the Young Child April 6-12 with a variety of planned activities. The Week of the Young Child is a fun-filled week celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities.

Dress Up Days Theme: Monday - Sports Day - wear your favorite sports team’s shirt or colors Tuesday - Wear All One Color Day - pick one color and wear it from head to toe Wednesday — Pattern Day - stars, stripes, plaid....how many patterns can you wear?

Thursday - PJ Day - wear your favorite pajamas to school Friday -School Spirit Day - wear Raider clothing or the colors red and white Special Week Activities in the community include: Saturday April 6 - Free Family Movie and Book Day Kung Fu Panda 4 at 10 a.m.

Monday April 8 — Conscious Discipline Online Training for Parents and Providers 6 p.m.

Tuesday April 9 — Coffee Literacy Appreciation for Early Education Staff Wednesday April 10 — One Book for Pre-K students through Taylor County Literacy Council Thursday April 11— Family Night at Huey’s Hideaway from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The free family event is open to all ages to explore and play in the local children’s museum, win books and prizes, special guest appearance by Huey the Owl, parenting resources Friday April 12 — Hairy and Company at MAES with Kindergarten and Community at 9 a.m., Pre-Kindergarten and Early Childhood at Stetsonville Elementary School at 10:15 a.m., and at SES Pre-K and Kindergarten at 1:15 p.m.

Week of the Young Child is made possible by Taylor County Early Childhood Council, Taylor County Drug Opposition Partners, Green Bay Packers Foundation Grant, Taylor County Literacy Council, and Medford Schools CCLC Grant.
