Loyal Lads & Lassies hold March meeting
This month, the Loyal Lads & Lassies 4-H club started its meeting at 7:02 p.m. on March 17. Katirina Smith led the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H pledge.
Treasurer’s Report: The current balance is $6,630.64. Eden Stieglitz made the motion to approve the treasurer's report. Emilee Suda seconded that motion.
Secretary’s Report: Roll call. This month the club collected socks for the Highground in honor of the Loyal Lads & Lassies’ 60th anniversary. Last month the club handed out Hoard’s Dairyman forms and Clark Pizza forms. Those were due back at this meeting. Lorelai Lambrecht made the motion to approve the secretary’s report. Kristen Lambrecht seconded that motion.
Birthday Leader: This month the birthday leader was Madelyn Lambrecht. She handed out birthday treats to all the March birthdays.
New Business: This month members were asked to wear green to the meeting for St. Patrick’s Day. Emilee Mercier, Korbin and Hunter Loos, and Kalan Weyer were congratulated for wearing the most green. The club members also discussed summer activities and experiences scholarships. The members decided on countywide trips to be $50, statewide trips to be $100 and out-of-state trips to be $250. For this to pass there needed to be a motion. Madison Stieglitz made a motion to approve that county trips get $50, state trips get $100 and out-of-state trips get $250. Ellie Robida seconded that motion. Jarrett Rueth talked about his 4-H camp experiences to encourage more kids to go on the summer camps that the 4-H has to offer.
Speeches and Demonstrations: There was one speech and one demonstration. Aedynn, Andrya and Grayce Wilke talked about their experiences at the Clark County Fair that is held in August each year. Each talked about what she brought to the fair and what she placed in each class.
Next, Hunter and Mason Walter talked about all the necessary parts you need to go fishing. They also demonstrated where the attached parts go on the fishing rod, which bait is used for what kind of fishing, etc.
The club also had two seniors give a speech on what 4-H meant to them. Mya Rueth and Leah Kayhart gave speeches describing what 4-H has taught them over the years. Both girls talked about how important community service has been to them. This is a requirement to get the Loyal Lads & Lassies scholarship.
Club Activity: This month, the club did a St. Patrick's Day word search.
