Which weather is the right vibe?

There have been big news happenings in my world. One of them being the weather that just doesn’t seem to understand that it is time to become much warmer. Yes, yes... I do realize that I live in Wisconsin and this time of year the weather is as such, warm - cold - cold - freezing - warm - cold and finally warm again (and that is not guaranteed until May - and even then), but honestly, the weather needs to figure it’s stuff out and suspend from giving us all whiplash.

My other news is one of my own making. As far as news worthiness goes, it is a very minimal defeat. Not defeat as in I become defeated, it is more or less the small victory of reclaiming my time and my space - yoga and meditation.

For some time I have put it aside, not because ignoring the benefits of a fruitful thing, no. The reasoning of my absence from my own practice is, I simply did not find the time. I was “too tired,” or “too busy.” In essence the time that it took to make up the excuses was the time I could have been doing such amongst my various other activities and responsibilities my life holds. It doesn’t take long, and even if there is only five minutes in the day to take some time for a short meditation - or check in with your body and soul. Not saying that I didn’t do just that, I just pushed it off until I was laying in bed waiting for rest to take me and by the time I had remembered I would be drifting off to dreamland.

Now, this week - the aftermath from a good show done - “Love or Best Offer,” I was co-stage manager - I can rest and recuperate. Lately, I was pushing hard at the gym in the wee hours of the morning, then the work day, after that rehearsal, until late. I would try to fit in schooling in any possible extra time I had to keep up with my knowledge building and accomplishments. But now, the rearrangement of my schedule and making it to how I please - well, with the structure of hours of my daily job - the world is somewhat my oyster. With the exceptions of my daily responsibilities and such. Bring on the Python (no, not the actual snake ew, please no!), SQL and warmer weather!

Soon, the completion of the Google certificate I am working hard for will come to fruition and will help lay the foundation of my future. I look forward to that part - the future - but the gratitude I possess for the now is truly what life is all about. Finding happiness in the “mundane” lifestyle of daily living is what we are all searching for.

Listening to Abraham Hicks this morning reminded me that one of the first things we can do in the morning is to be grateful. From the moment of awakeness - you can choose to express the gratitude for being awake on a beautiful new day - even when it’s dreary outside, and you can still be grateful that you slept in a comfortable bed, with safety of your household around you.

Starting off the day with grateful thoughts makes it easier throughout the day to pause and find moments of peace rather than the constant chaos that the world likes to throw at you. To find the time to meditate and do some yoga, or maybe going to the gym. I mentioned the other day to a friend that you have to balance the strength and resiliency with softness. That even when standing up everyday with strength to get through - you also need to be vulnerable to those you trust. Life is all about balance. If you keep going hard at it and running yourself down - you will just become drained. But if you remember to be soft and show softness - chances are you will get a lot further and be happier throughout.

“When you emerge into the day, let your vibration be the dominant one. Your vibration of JOY, your vibration of growth, your vibration of freedom, your vibration of love and your vibration of ALL IS WELL! And anybody that is out there vibrating in discord with that -- will vibrate someplace else.” - Abraham Hicks
