One vehicle crashes
On February 17, at 9:15 p.m. a vehicle operated by Addysson Hopkins, 19 of Thorp, was northbound on CTH B in the town of Ford, just south of Polley Ln. when it entered the east ditch due to the driver being distracted by a cell phone. Upon entering the east ditch, Hopkins struck a highway sign, continued for a short distance, and struck a power line pole which caused disabling damage to the vehicle. Hopkins sustained minor injuries and was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital. Hopkins was also arrested for operating while impaired (1st offense). The road was closed at 9:47 p.m. and reopened at 3:45 a.m. on Feb. 18.
Car vs. deer
On February 17 at 5:50 p.m., a vehicle operated by Donald Erl, 65, of Medford, struck a deer while driving on Grahl Dr. in the town of Browning.
On February 15 at 8:11 p.m., Taylor County deputies were informed that a vehicle driven by Kaylee Reyes, 28, of Rib Lake struck a deer while southbound on CTH C in the town of Greenwood.
Two vehicle crashes
On February 16 at 10:06 a.m., a farm tractor operated by Brian Steen, 61, of Rib Lake, was exiting a driveway while clearing snow when it came into contact with a Fedex delivery truck operated by Jason Lorden, 39 of Stevens Point, as Lorden was traveling northbound on Hetland Ave. in the town of Greenwood. The Lorden vehicle then went partially into the west ditch. Steen pulled Lorden out of the ditch prior to the arrival of the sheriff’s deputy. No injuries were reported.
On February 8 at 2:26 p.m. a vehicle operated by Michael Kalmon, 45, of Medford, was eastbound on Hwy 64 and then turned north onto Hwy 13, when the traffic signal turned green. A semi-truck with trailer operated by Bonnie Fries, 62, of Catawba, turned north on Hwy 13 after stopping at the stop sign. Fries did not see Kalmon’s vehicle and failed to yield the right of way and struck Kalmon’s vehicle causing minor damage. No citations were issued.
citations for operating under the influence (2nd), operat ing while suspended, failure to notify police of accident, and failure to keep vehicle under control.
TAYLOR COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

On February 14 at 7:30 p.m., a vehicle operated by Ethan Bolz, 18 of Withee was traveling westbound on CTH M in the town of Grover. The roadway was snow covered at this time. The vehicle began to spin and the tires locked up. The vehicle then ended up spinning and entering the north ditch. There was functional damage to the front end of the vehicle.
