C.O.F. Bowling tournament goes off without a hitch

The Abbotsford C.O.F. bowling tournament closed Sunday night with Wisconsin Rapids No. 1 jumping into first place with a score of 2,570 pins.

Immunization center at school on Tuesday

An immunization and vaccination center will be held at the Abbotsford High School on Tuesday. Those from Abbotsford, Dorchester, Milan and Curtiss who wish to have their children immunized are urged to come to the dining room at the gymnasium at 9 a.m.

Abbotsford wins one

The Abbotsford Ramblers met Unity Tuesday evening in a non-conference match at the high school gym here. The Ramblers downed the Tigers and the preliminary game was also won by the Abbotsford B team.

Primary election to fill three Colby school board positions

A primary election will be necessary in the Colby school board race as multiple candidates will vie for three spots on the board. The eight candidates are: George Kadonsky, L.T. “Bud” Carlyon, Donald Peissig, Bryce Luchterhand, Larry Meyer, Ronald Busse, Ray Binning and Roger Olson.

Jakel crowned egg champion

Chuck Jakel ate 22 boiled eggs to take first place at an egg eating contest at Nobby’s Bar west of Abbotsford.

Curtiss seeks grants for $1.5 million project

An engineering consultant said this week that Curtiss stands a very good chance of securing grants to cover most of the cost of a proposed $1.5 million water improvement project in the village.

Colby Ok’s water and sewer for this summer

The Colby City Council this week approved a motion to have the city engineer draw up plans for extending water and sewer service north to annexed portions of the city during the 1999 construction season.
