R eports Description Diagram Reconstruction By Deer Related Crashes
On December 15, at 6:00 p.m., a vehicle driven by Leroy Markow, 76, of Medford, struck a deer on STH 13 in the town of Chelsea.
On December 16, at 7:37 p.m., a vehicle driven by Scott Piller, 55, of Medford, struck a deer on Cedar Street in the town of Medford.
On December 18, at 7:46 a.m., a vehicle driven by April Yeager, 42, of Curtiss, struck a deer on CTH O in the town of Medford.
On December 23, at 6:02 p.m., a vehicle driven by Ronald Rapp, 48, of Neillsville, struck a deer on Hwy 13 in the town of Westboro.
On December 21, at 4:09 p.m., a vehicle driven by Cassie Jo Wellman, 30, of Medford, struck a deer on Timber Dr. in the town of Browning.
On December 23 at 5:03 p.m., a vehicle driven by Dale Thomas, 65, of Gilman, struck a deer on Miller Ave. in the town of Aurora.
One Vehicle Crashes
On December 15, at 11:10 p.m., a vehicle driven by Joshua Schultz, 23, of Stetsonville was southbound on Gibson Drive in the town of Little Black, when Schultz advised that he swerved for a deer. Schultz’s vehicle entered the east ditch and struck an embankment coming to a rest facing south easterly. There were no apparent injuries as a result of the accident. Schultz was cited for operating while under the influence.
On December 17, at 10:50 a.m., a vehicle driven by Masyn Warner, 15, of Rib Lake was traveling southbound on Division Drive in the town of Hammel and was attempting to negotiate the curve north of Sawyer Avenue. Warner’s vehicle was traveling too fast to negotiate the curve and struck the southern shoulder, which was softer than the road. Warner overcorrected and drove straight across the northbound lane, striking a chevron curve sign, then striking a tree before coming to rest. Warner is a non licensed juvenile that was given unauthorized permission to operate the vehicle by his father, Travis Warner, 34, of Rib Lake. Travis Warner was also a passenger of the vehicle. Neither party were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Both suffered suspected serious injuries and were transported to Aspirus Medford. Masyn Warner was cited for operating without a valid license (1st violation), vehicle operator failure to wear a seat belt and failure to keep vehicle under control. Travis Warner was cited for riding in vehicle without wearing a seat belt and permitting unauthorized minor to drive.
On December 18, at 4:40 a.m., a vehicle driven by Steven Wilson, 56, of Medford was southbound on STH 13 in the town of Little Black. Wilson advised that he swerved to avoid another vehicle almost running them off the road. Wilson lost control and entered the east ditch. Wilson suffered a suspected minor injury as a result

On December 27 at 3:39 p.m., a legally parked vehicle owned by Melissa Moore of Medford, was parked facing eastbound in a parking stall at 224 S. Second St. A vehicle operated by Tammy Rae Radzinski, 51, of Medford, trailed over a curb when entering the driveway of the parking lot then made a right turn to face westbound in a parking stall directly to the south of Moore’s vehicle. While doing so, the back driver side of the Radzinski vehicle made contact with the driver side of the Moore vehicle scraping against it and causing minor damage to the Moore vehicle. Radzinski was cited for operating under the influence.

On December 20, at 4:00 p.m., a vehicle driven by Kaitlyn Glebke, 22, Gilman was northbound on Elder Drive in the town of Aurora, when it began to fishtail. Glebke advised that she lost control in the soft gravel. Glebke’s vehicle entered the east ditch and overturned coming to a rest on its roof. Both Glebke and her passenger suffered possible injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
At 2:29 p.m. on December 29, a vehicle operated by Bernadine Schmeiser, 83, Medford, made a right turn to turn westbound in the Medford Plaza parking lot and

struck a pole. While doing so she caused functional damage to the passenger side middle of the vehicle. Schmeiser stated she thought she pulled out far enough to avoid the pole, but did not.
On December 27 at 9:50 p.m., vehicle operated by Melissa Birge, 47, of Marshfield, was northbound on Hwy 13 approaching CTH O. She cut the corner too sharp during a left turn onto CTH O and struck the traffic signal on CTH O. the sign was completely detached from the concrete median that it was secured to. The vehicle sustained minor damage. Birge was cited for operating while under the influence.
On December 23 at 7:26 a.m., a vehicle operated by James Morris, Sr., 64, Glen Flora, was traveling south on Hwy 13 north of Chelsea Ave. in the town of Chelsea and was pulling a flat bed trailer. The driver stated he saw some lights illuminated in his dash. He stated he lost power of the vehicle so he began to pull off the road. As he began to pull off the road, he realized he had lost his brakes and there was smoke coming from under his hood. Driver was able to get the truck and trailer completely off the road. Driver stated a passerby, who is a volunteer firefighter, used two fire extinguishers to contain the fire. EMS and Fire arrived and completely put the fire out. Neither the driver, nor the passenger, Sam Miller, 28, of Kennan, were injured. The truck was removed by Kozak Enterprise and the trailer was removed by a friend.
Two Vehicle Crash
On December 14, at 5:40 p.m., a vehicle driven by Catherine Venzke, 41, of Medford was traveling westbound on CTH O. Venzke slowed down to be able to make a left turn onto Gibson Drive. As Venzke was about to turn a vehicle driven by Kayla Eberly, 17, of Withee rearended Venzke’s vehicle. Eberly was distracted and did not see Venzke slow down to make a left turn. There were no apparent injuries as a result of the accident. Eberly was cited for inattentive driving.
On December 29, a vehicle operated by Tara Weiler, 35, of Medford, backed into a vehicle owned by Jason Hippe, 42 of Dorchester at 227 E. South St. at an unknown time. Weiler claimed to be unaware of striking the Hippe vehicle which was unoccupied at the time.
On December 27 at 4:12 p.m., a vehicle driven by Kimberly Frank, 39, of Medford, was traveling southbound in the alleyway between S. Second St. and S. Main St. A bicycle being ridden by Ann M. Heil 56, of Medford, was traveling eastbound on Division St. up the hill on the sidewalk. Frank pulled out of the alleyway onto the crosswalk. The front of the bicycle then made contact with the front passenger side of the Frank vehicle causing damage to the bicycle. Frank told the officer that she was moving very slowly when this happened. Heil stated Frank seemed to be driving fast, possibly not stopping for the stop sign.

UNIT 1 TRAVELED OVER A CURB WHEN ENTERING THE DRIVEWAY TO THE PARKING LOT, THEN MADE A RIGHT TURN TO FACE WESTBOUND IN A PARKING STALL DIRECTLY TO THE SOUTH OF UNIT 2. WHILE DOING SO, THE BACK DRIVER SIDE OF UNIT 1 MADE CONTACT WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF UNIT 2, SCRAPING AGAINST IT AND CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO UNIT 2.
