Brunkhorst’s high scoring not enough for win
The Greenwood Indians overcame a sensational shooting barrage by Abbotsford’s Bucky Brunkhorst Tuesday night to defeat the Ramblers 35 to 47 in a non-conference basketball game. Brunkhorst scored 29 ofAbbotsford’s 35 points.
Laack receives honors for outstanding player
Galen Laack was recently awarded the Omega Phi Alpha trophy for being the outstanding player as well as the most valuable football player on the freshman team at the College of the Pacific at Stockton, Calif.

New 55 mph law takes effect on Wisconsin roads
The new 55 mph Wisconsin speed limit became effective Sunday, Dec. 30, 1973 on all state roads. The road signs posting speed limits are in the process of being changed and offenders will be ticketed for speeding on roads posted with the new speed limit.
Red’s Bar receives new owner, name
Red’s Bar inAbbotsford, owned and operated by Joe and RosinaAndreshak, for the past 14 years, is sporting a new name and has a new owner as the new year opens. Gale Schraufnagel and his bride, Kris, have purchased the bar from theAndreshaks. Schrauf’s Pub is the name chosen for the bar.
Wrestling goes one and one in action-packed week
The Abbotsford wrestling team dropped a conference matchup to Nekoosa before defeating Granton 37-22.. Darrell Lueth, Randy Kremsreiter, Jim Kramas, Al Prestebak, Jeff Pinter, Vic Borgemoen, Dennis Soyk and ScottTrimner all recorded victories forAbbotsford.

The Tribune-Phonograph has joined the information superhighway. The TP is now on the internet. The website will be updated weekly after the paper is printed.
Abby wrestles with sidewalk snow
With lots of new snow and some more reported to be on the way, Abbotsford officials clarified the sidewalk clearing policy this week -- sort of. After a discussion of the snow problem and the city ordinance affecting its removal, aldermen at the council meeting told DPW Admin. Bill Beil to use his own judgement in handling the situation.
