CRASH
On November 26, at 1:36 p.m., a vehicle driven by Curtiss Mudgett, 45 of Gilman was traveling westbound on CTH M when his vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Lillie Gleichauf, 17, of Medford. Gleichauf had failed to stop for the stop sign on Division Dr. and CTH M. Gleichauf slid through the intersection due to the icy roads. Gleichauf came to a rest up against a cable box and address sign facing southwest. Mudgett maintained control and stopped approximately 200 yards to the west of the intersection on CTH M. There were no apparent injuries as a result of the accident. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. TAYLOR COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

On December 2, at 5:18 p.m., a vehicle driven by Wayne Guthman, 76, of Ringle struck a deer on CTH S in the town of Taft.

On December 3, at 6:26 a.m., a vehicle driven by Jennifer Lewandowski, 38, of Medford struck a deer on Center Ave. in the town of Browning.

On December 6, at 4:45 p.m., a vehicle driven by Therese Herman, 68, of Ogema struck a deer on Hwy 13 in the town of Westboro.

On December 6, at 5:23 p.m., a vehicle driven by Jessica Gilbert, 40, of Gilman struck a deer on CTH O in the town of Little Black.

On December 9, at 12:27 a.m., a vehicle driven by Krista Zucker, 21, of Medford struck a deer on Hwy 13 in the city of Medford.

One Vehicle Crashes

On December 3, at 3:40 a.m., a vehicle driven by Samantha Barnes, 27, of Medford was northbound on STH 13 in the town of Little Black. Barnes advised that she hit a patch of ice and lost control of the vehicle. Barnes’ vehicle entered the west ditch and overturned coming to a rest on its roof. There were no injuries as a result of the crash. Barnes’ vehicle had to be towed due to disabling damage.

On December 3, at 12:48 p.m., a vehicle driven by Chelsea Gebauer, 16, of Medford was westbound on CTH M in the town of Chelsea, when she encountered slush and left the roadway into the north ditch. Once the vehicle entered the ditch, Gebauer struck a tree and likely rolled before coming to rest facing eastbound against another tree. Gebauer suffered a suspected minor injury. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

On December 5, at 4:00 a.m., a vehicle driven by Emily Nagel, 29, of Sheldon was operating westbound on CTH D near the STH 73 intersection in the town of Jump River and was unable to stop due to the weather conditions. Nagel’s vehicle went through the T-intersection and entered the west ditch of STH 73, which led to a highway sign being struck. Nagel’s vehicle received a small dent in the front license plate and was removed by the operator. There were no apparent injuries as a result of the accident.

Two Vehicle Crashes

On December 4, at 3:33 p.m., a vehicle driven by Steven Kolpien Jr., 36, of Chippewa Falls was traveling southbound on Long Lake Rd. in the town of Rib Lake. Kolpien’s back end started to slide and struck a vehicle driven by Beverly Butler,72, of Rib Lake. Butler was northbound on Long Lake Rd. at the time of the accident. There were no injuries as a result of the accident. Kolpien was cited for operating while revoked (revoked due to alcohol/controlled substance/refusal).

On December 5, at 6:15 p.m., a vehicle driven by Robert Michlig, 67, of Abbotsford was traveling eastbound on E Clark St. in the city of Medford. When Michlig reached the intersection of E Clark St. and S Eighth St., Michlig attempted to make a right turn into the far lane of southbound traffic. A vehicle driven by Evan Ensign, 29, of Dorchester was westbound and attempted to make a left turn at this intersection. When Ensign approached and made this turn, he attempted to enter the closest lane of southbound traffic. When both units attempted to enter the same lane, the front driver’s side corner of Michlig’s vehicle made contact with the passenger side front of Ensign’s vehicle. There were no apparent injuries as a result of the accident.

On December 6, at 5:00 p.m., a vehicle driven by Deborah Zarnke, 64, of Curtiss was traveling southbound in the left southbound lane on Eighth St. in the city of Medford. Zarnke attempted to make a left turn onto E Clark St. Zarnke failed to turn in time, then tried to merge back into the left lane of southbound traffic. A vehicle driven by Donna Witek, 68, of Thorp was traveling in this lane at the time, which was not seen by Zarnke. The front right corner of Zarnke’s vehicle made contact with the left side middle of Witek’s vehicle. There were no apparent injuries as a result of the accident.

On December 7, at 5:03 p.m., a vehicle owned by Samantha Brandner, of Medford was legally parked in a parking space, facing southbound on S Main St. in the city of Medford A vehicle driven by Delaney Hraby, 18, of Medford was traveling southbound and attempted to pull into a parking space in front of Brandner’s vehicle. Hraby turned early, causing the front passenger side corner of Hraby’s vehicle to scrape against the front driver’s side of Brandner’s vehicle. There were no injuries as a result of the accident.
