Nominations open for person of year, lifetime achievement honors

It is time to send in nominations for the 2023 Medford Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) recognition banquet.

The Medford Area Chamber of Commerce offers four award categories to recognize people who have made a difference in the community. Nominations should be made with the form available at the Chamber office located in downtown Medford and will be determined by the Chamber Awards Committee.

Recipients will be notified and invited to be recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Membership Dinner on January 27, 2024. When nominating, please consider the qualifications listed below:

• Nominated persons must have performed services in Taylor County

• The nominator and/or nominees do not have to be members of the Member Chamber of Commerce

• Self-nominations are welcome

• If nominating in more than one category, please use separate forms for each

• Please submit all nominations to the Medford Chamber of Commerce office no later than close of business December 18.

• All deadlines are firm, and nominations will not be accepted after the deadline (including mail-in nominations) Recognition will be given in the following four areas: Person of the Year — The Person of the Year should be someone who has done things that are pertinent to our extended community now. They should be out in the public giving to our community.

Employee Excellence — The Employee Excellence candidates may be nominated by a community member that has experienced their outstanding work ethic, community ties, and achievements in their profession.

Lifetime Achievement — The Lifetime Achievement award will be given to an individual who had devoted a lifetime to supporting Taylor County in its everchanging and growing communities. This can be through volunteer efforts, philanthropy, business, or politics.

J.A. O’Leary Distinguished Community Service — The J.A. O’Leary Distinguished Community Service award will be given to an individual who would have been eligible to be nominated for the Lifetime Achievement award but passed away before they were able to receive it. Nomination forms are due back to the chamber of commerce by December 20.
