Dorchester library returns to normal business hours

Starting this past Monday, the Dorchester Public Library has returned to normal library hours:

_ Monday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (for at risk/ elderly patrons)

_ Monday 1-7 p.m. (all patrons)

_ Tuesday 1-6 p.m.

_ Wednesday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

_ Thursday closed

_ Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

The library will continue with its “pick up and go” policy. Patrons can have 15 minutes in the library to drop off materials and pick up new materials.

Social distancing will remain in place, with only nine people being served in the library at one time. Materials returned to the library will be quarantined for at least 72 hours before being returned to the shelves for patron use.

Library staff will continue to regularly clean and sanitize library surfaces, door handles, computers, and circulation desk for the safety of library users.

Programming at the library is still on hold for now and will not begin again until library staff feels they can provide safe programming for patrons.

Story Hour will continue on Facebook at 10:30 a.m. on Friday mornings. Patrons can like the Dorchester Public Library page to find all of the story hour videos.

Patrons can call 715-654-5959 to request materials, and library staff will deliver them curbside during regular library hours, if they are more comfortable with that.

Two computers are available for patrons who need to quickly check e-mail, online banking, or print a tax form, label or other quick tasks. There are no computers available for students to do classwork at this time.

Patrons can access the wireless network in their vehicles in the parking lot of the library, but there will be no space available inside the library for use of personal devices beyond the 15 minutes patrons can be inside the library.

Patrons can find more up-to-date information at dorchesterpubliclibrary.org and on the library’s Facebook page.
