Abbotsford High School will present diplomas to 42 graduates at a 2 p.m. commencement ceremony this Saturday, July 25, at the football field.

All but six graduates are expected to attend the ceremony, which is normally held in May High school principal Ryan Bargender those six have either started military service or moved away The 2020 valedictorian is Jayden Falteisek, the daughter of Darel Falteisek and Krista Keech. She earned a 3.993 grade-point average.

The 2020 salutatorians are Alyssa Beran, daughter of Norman and Sharon Beran, and Emily Espino, daughter of Alma Aguilera and Isaac Espino. They both earned a GPA of 3.985.

Jayden Falteisek are leadership roles such as the secretary of FCCLA, class secretary, class president, president of National Honor Society and volleyball captain. She was also in National Honor Society, Student Senate, FBLA, BLAST, FCCLA, volleyball, basketball, softball, Spanish Club, band, forensics, one act play and Mathletes.

Outside of school, Jayden has participated in the Abbotsford Christmas Parade, and helped with Lions Club events and American Red Cross blood drives. She has also done Salvation Army bell ringing, served as an altar server at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and raked leaves for community members. She also volunteered at community Easter and Halloween parties for the youth.

She is enlisted in the Army National Guard and will go to Advanced Individual Training on May 28 to Ft. Jackson, S.C. Jayden is planning to attend UW Stevens Point in the fall for elementary and special education. Alyssa Beran, one of two salutatorians, participated in many extracurricular and volunteer activities. Among her accomplishments are leadership roles such as president of FBLA and captain of her volleyball teams. She is also the class treasurer and has served as treasurer for National Honor Society, Student Senate, and the Abby FFA.

She participated in softball, volleyball, National Honor Society, Student Senate, band, jazz band, choir, show choir, FBLA, FCCLA, FFA, and Mathletes.

Alyssa also has volunteered for the American Red Cross blood drives and went on a mission trip to Red Lake, Minn. She also rakes leaves for the community and has helped with the Abbotsford FFA dairy breakfast. She has done lecturing at church, teaching at Bible school and refereeing volleyball. Alyssa plans to attend college at UW Madison and pursue a degree in engineering. Emily Espino, the other salutatorian, participated in many extracurricular and volunteer activities. Among her accomplishments, she is vice president of National Honor Society. She also participated in Student Senate, band, jazz band, choir, FBLA, FCCLA, Spanish Club and Mathletes.

Emily also has volunteered for the Colby Dairy Breakfast and teaches CCD to 4-5 year olds.

Emily is in her second year of Youth Apprenticeship for finance. She works at Nicolet National Bank.

Emily plans to attend college at UW Eau Claire for a degree in accounting.
