Mary Firnstahl
Mary Firnstahl, age 80, of Colby, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, at her home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at Saint Mary Help of Christian Parish in Colby. Father Joseph Redfern will preside. Interment to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, all at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.
Mary was born on April 8, 1939, the daughter of Ervin and Frances (Ebben) Primeau, in Colby. Mary grew up in rural Colby on a farm. She was united in marriage to Manny Firnstahl on Sept. 5, 1959, at Saint Mary Help of Christian Parish in Colby. He preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 2013. Mary enjoyed camping and loved taking care of children.
Mary is lovingly survived by her five children: Connie (Jim) Schoeneck-Churchill of Rhinelander, Mary Chris (Mike) Mikula of Wausau, Butch (Joanne) Firnstahl of Medford, Tom (Diane) Firnstahl of Colby and Rich (Michelle) Firnstahl of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren: Travis (Liz) Mikula of Three Lakes, Derek (Angie) Mikula of Appleton, Tonia (Ryan) Dobbe of Elm Grove, Tara (Jesse) Gruny of Medford, Jamie (Kevin) Churchill of San Diego, Calif., Eric Firnstahl of Colby, Amy Firnstahl of Shawano, Rayna and Bianca Firnstahl of Eau Claire; and five great-grandchildren: Kenadie Mikula, Lydia and Charlotte Gruny, and Brynna, Jack and Nicholas Dobbe. She is further survived by three brothers: Don (Mary Jane) of Va., Gary (Tammy) of Neillsville, and Erv (Kathy) of Curtiss; three sisters-in-law: Margy Firnstahl of Arpin, Dolores Hedler of Colby and Margaret Hasenohrl of Colby; and a brother-in-law: Dan (Karen) Firnstahl of Medford; along with many nieces and nephews; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Manny; a son-in-law; Range Schoeneck, brother, Devere (Gladys) and sister, Evelyn (Jim).
In lieu of flowers a memorial can be made to Saint Mary Help of Christian Parish.
