Hernandez takes plea deal, 15 years of probation Leovigildo Cruz Hernandez, 19, of Abbotsford, will spend 15 years on probation after accepting a plea deal for his part in a stabbing that took place in Unity in January 2023. During a sentencing hearing on Thursday, February 29, Hernandez pled no contest to First degree reckless injury - use of a dangerous weapon, a class D Felony in Wisconsin. According to court documents, Hernandez will be on probation for 15 years and a prison sentence will be withheld. If Hernandez violates any term of his probation, he could face jail time in the future. During the probation period, Hernandez is not to have any contact with the victim of the stabbing, no possession of any dangerous weapons, absolute sobriety from alcohol and controlled substances unless one is prescribed and no going to bars, taverns, liquor stores or beer tents. Also, Hernandez is to pay court costs and provide a DNA sample to the court. Hernandez was credited with 403 days served in jail.
