As the saying goes, “drive for show, putt for dough.” Even the best drive (your initial documents) will not get the ball to the pin (planning goals) without a steady hand on the green. Life, like golf, is a game of making adjustments to changing conditions. Hazards pop up. Each change can alter your path to the pin and the strategy to get there. When conditions change on or off the course, your plan should change too. Situations that call for estate plan adjustments include the following: marriage, having children or grandchildren, divorce, death or incapacity of a decision-maker, changes in wealth or assets, and tax law or legal changes. Plan regular reviews of your estate plan every three to five years or after any major life event. With a few well-placed and well-timed adjustments, you will stay on track for a smooth finish—no mulligans needed. From the Attorney’s Desk by Jason Krautkramer, J.D. The first Medford Alumni Swim meet was held on Saturday, March 7 bringing 24 alumni of the program back to the MASH pool. Twenty-one of the attendees swam, representing a range from the Class of 1987 all the way to the Class of 2026. The group included six parent/child combinations. The event featured a variety of relays and mainly 25- and 50-yard events and ended with a lunch at BS Bar. The hope going forward is to hold alumni meets every other year. SUBMITTED PHOTO
