172913 THANK YOU! The Medford Kiwanis Club Summer Concert Series would like to thank all the people who made the 2025 Concert Series a success. Through rain and smoke, hot days and cool evenings, the concert series provides an opportunity for community members to step away from their screens and come together. While the concerts are free to attend, there are costs to pay the musicians and other expenses. We would like to thank our sponsors whose support makes the series possible. Series sponsors: Hemer-Pickerign Funeral and Cremation Services and Thrivent. Series supporters: Weather Shield Employee LITE Foundation and the City of Medford Hotel/Motel Room Tax Fund. Media Partners: K99 Radio and The Star News. Night sponsors: AbbyBank; Nicolet National Bank; Tina Dassow, MLO at Prevail Bank; the REC Center; The Star News; Jensen, Scott, Grunewald, and Shiffler Attorneys at Law; Royal Credit Union; Huotari Construction; Bill and Sue Breneman; Rural Mutual Insurance; and the Medford Curling Club. We would also like to thank the individual and anonymous donors who sponsored bands and contributed to make the concert series possible. Most notably, we would like to thank all those who came out each week and all of the performers. Without you, we would not have a concert series. We especially thank those who bought concessions and raffles. More than half of the music series’ annual budget comes from individuals buying from the concession stand and purchasing 50/50 raffle tickets. All of the money raised from these goes into booking performers for the coming year so you directly help us to continue to grow. Any individuals, groups or businesses interested in being a series or night sponsor may contact Brian at 715-465-0333 or email kiwanisconcertseries@gmail.com. Donations can also be sent to Medford Kiwanis Club Attn: Concert Series, PO Box 3, Medford, WI 54451. It was an uneventful evening for members of the Medford City Council on Tuesday as they met to hold the annual board of review. No property owners attended to question their property tax assessment. The board of review is the opportunity for local taxpayers to raise objections to their property tax assessments and ask the board to approve modifications to it. Under state law, the burden in on the taxpayer to show that the assessor’s amount was incorrect. The board of review meets for at least two hours regardless if there are any filed complaints BRIAN WILSON/THE STAR NEWS
Planning commission members gave their blessing to annexing 880 Gibson St. The request next goes to the city council for final approval. It will be developed for multi-family residential use.
