92694_6 Dear Medford and Surrounding Community Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery has been a part of our community since 1870 and has become a final resting place for approximately 3,000 people since that time. As the years pass, the elements have caused a great deal of wear and tear on the headstones, including buildup of moss and lichen. In addition, the headstones have begun to sink or tilt due to the ground settling. Others have actually broken and fallen off their bases. Five years ago, the members of Holy Rosary Cemetery Committee started a project to restore the cemetery. We are holding our annual fundraising campaign the month of July. We will only be doing the amount of work based on the funds raised. Work will be done section by section each year, beginning with the oldest section of the cemetery. Thank you in advance to our community for your generous support. If you are interested in donating toward this worthwhile project, please send your contribution to: Holy Rosary Parish, Cemetery Renovation Project, PO Box 503, Medford, WI 54451. 92694_6 Dear Medford and Surrounding Community Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery has been a part of our community since 1870 and has become a final resting place for approximately 3,000 people since that time. An x-ray scanner, not currently installed and in-use, has been placed in the Taylor County Courthouse as of last week. The county board approved installation of a weapons screening system and security guard last October with the machine costing roughly $30,000 as well as $85,000 a year in salary and benefits for security personnel.
