C ounty Taylor CONGRATULATIONS Tammy Williams Educator What do you teach? of the Month Huey’s Academy How long have you been an educator? 26 years at the Medford School District and 4 years at Huey’s Academy. Who was your favorite/best teacher when you were a student and why? My favorite teacher was Mrs. Williams. She always had the best smile, warm, genuine, and the kind that made you feel safe the moment you walked into her classroom. Why did you choose this profession? I chose to be a teacher because I believe in the power of connection and curiosity. There’s nothing more meaningful than helping someone discover what they’re capable of. Every student is a chance to change a life, and every day brings new moments to inspire, to uplift, and to make learning feel exciting and safe. I wanted to be part of that. What inspires you to continue as an educator? The joy of seeing a child grow not just academically, but as a person is what keeps me coming back every day. What is your favorite memory as an educator? 170707 Some of my favorite memories as a teacher aren’t even from the classroom. They’re the moments when former students come running up just to give me a hug, or when I’m invited to their baseball and soccer games. Those moments remind me that teaching is about so much more than lessons and grades, it’s about building relationships, earning trust, and consistently showing up. It’s in those simple, unexpected gestures that I’m reminded why I do this work.
